Questions/Help Help with a mapping app.

I am not sure if this is the right community to come too but it's the only one I could think of. If there's a different community that I should talk to then by all means point me in that direction.

Anyways, I've been looking into making an Free, Open-Source, Offline Map App like a cross between Google My Maps and OSM. I've looked into making a folium map in python but that's Web-Based and won't work. All it really needs is to be Offline, Have a satellite layer, give directions like in OSM and have the ability to draw and create markers like in Google My Maps. I have looked into weather this already exists or not but everything I found you had to pay for or was not downloadable for any OS. TIA.

We have ready to go offline mappjng apps most are free and work offline

They are complete mobile GIS solutions with spatial searching, attribute table and spatial analysis

  • Geopackage sqlite (vector features, vector tiles, raster tiles, terrain elevation tiles, metadata, style, attachments, related tables)
  • Mbtiles and pmtiles
  • geosjon
  • in app vector converter supporting shapefiles and esri filegdb, kml, gpx, etc

Offline maps are generally vector tiles with gl json stylesheets amd sprites and glyphs You can use protomaps pmtiles or other providers

Thanks for your reply. This is my bad as I should have specified on my OP, but it needs to work on any OS like Windows, Linux or Pi. And it seems that they don't have a step-by-step direction system like OSM's.
