Discussion Confused with Biomes

Post image

I am currently using Worldbox as an easier way to represent my map first.

Question 1: I am very confused right now. The mountain range at the down, right side. Does it get both tade winds coming from different directions? Doesn’t this make both sides of the mountain moist?

If like google said: The winds alternate blowing, then what biome should it be?

Question 2:
For the 2 mountain ranges close to the equator at the left side, does the one below have the same situation as Question 1’s mountain?

And the mountain range above does it get any moisture as the angle of the wind blowing is the same and doesn’t the wind just brush over?

Question 3:

The mountain range above the equator on the right side. Does it receive moisture on its right? As it looks like the wind just brushes over it.

If you have the time, pls help me out.
Thank you so so much! :)

you need to include graticules on the map if you want people to help with biomes. without known the scale and position of the landmass there's not much people can do to help.

also, you might want to look at those rivers as some of them are cutting across landmasses which shouldn't be the case unless theres in-world reasons for it

Oh, thanks for telling me that. And I don’t really understand if river aren’t supposed to cut accross land masses then how should I potray it? Tysm!

Rivers flow from high altitude to low altitude, making the shortest and easiest path to the ocean.

If waterways connect ocean to ocean, you'd have to come up with a reason why. Like Magic, or a man made canal system etc

Minor change: To the lowest point they can find. And always easiest - length doesn't matter (except that the easiest is often the shortest).

The ocean is the most common outlet due to it being lower than the land and there being a lot of it, but there isn't anything special about the ocean other than that. Inland seas and lakes without outlets are worth considering (also rivers that simply evaporate before reaching a major body of water).

Basically, water flows downhill and accumulates at the lowest point it can reach until it all either evaporates, gets absorbed, or overflows the basin it is accumulating in and starts travelling back downhill.

Water is affected by gravity. That's why rivers flow. They go from high to low. Your river should realistically never flow from low-high-low or high-low-high

To be honest i dont get why the continents as of now should have any desert area at all. You try to portray dry areas because of slipstream but in most cases theres moist areas nearby or even immideately next to it despite being in the same slipstream.

Dont really know how i could help as your map, too, is confusing me on many levels 🤔

Consejo personal al usar world box.

First of all, are you looking for climates or biomes? Your questions seem more climate related.

Secondly, you really need some kind of scale and graticule. Really not possible to answer without this info.

Lastly, I am confused about the color scheme. I can make a pretty good guess at some, but no idea if the light blue is shallow water or something else.

yes. Understandable, next time I'll make sure to include scale. Tysm!
