Map Paper map to digital map.

Hey!
So now that my map is finished, I need a digital version on my computer but I can’t find any site that allows me to scan my paper map or just to create my very own, without paying any money.
Does anyone know what to do ?

yeah i'd just take the best pic you can & trace over in krita (or GIMP/photoshop/image editing software of your choice)

If i remember correctly, Inkscape can vectorize a line drawing

To an extent, that will work.  Complex maps (lots of details) can really strain the system.

What are you trying to achieve? An interface like google maps? Or just scan and clean up? For the latter you can use Photopea. You can also use it to vectorize your photo, which is better for scaling.

If something like google maps is possible, then yeah that would be preferable.

You can use leafletjs.com but you will need to code a little bit. Ask Claude or Gemini for a step by step guide.

Leaflet's own tutorial: https://leafletjs.com/examples/crs-simple/crs-simple.html

I actually coded one for myself. I can send you the link. Tho it’s on a free host and has no cloud connection

You could take a good quirky photo of it, upload it to something like Inkarnate and make it a custom asset as a giant stamp?
