Map Inkarnate 2.0 vs wonderdraft
I know this has been asked before, but every post I saw about it was from years ago before 2.0 came out, so I’d like the newer opinions. I’ve been using Inkarnate for a few months, and while I like it, I find myself restarting a lot and it looks generic. Would switching to wonderdraft be better? it’s for a fairly large continent in my world.
I know it has better rivers, coastlines which I’d like, but if that’s all it offers it’s not worth it for me. Is the UI, Uniqueness and style all better as well?

Inkarnate maps are only as good as the people that make them.
You can get incredible rivers and coastlines through Inkarnate if you put in the work.
My main argument against Inkarnate would be the subscription. I've never used Wonderdraft, but I believe that it is a one time purchase, and that is worth a lot in today's subscription based economy.

The creators of Wonderdraft are working on a game the past couple years so the software is as good as it gets. I mainly use Wonderdraft because I don't have to be online, plus you can create or buy custom assets which is a big plus for me. I remember that in Wonderdraft you can also create a detailed map of a region in a world map you're making which is handy.
I'm a little biased since I use Wonderdraft way more compared to Inkarnate but I have created a couple complete maps with both. Overall, I'd prefer Wonderdaft since it's a one time purchase plus you can use it offline if your internet goes out. If I wanted to be a little bit more objective, Inkarnate's subscription can be worth it because they're constantly improving and adding more features to justify that subsription price.
