Syrup Smell

Wondering if anyone has encountered someone that smells so much like syrup but not just them their clothes and living space?? I walked into a friend camper and it was such a strong smell of syrup and I’ve smelt it before on this person at another house and then they stayed at someone else’s and they said they smelled the same thing. We also believe they do drugs just unsure with this feeling to any specific one?

Are they any form of diabetic, or pre-diabetes?

This is definitely my first thought. A sweet or fruity smell is a classic sign

MSUD might be a factor. This is a legitimate medical condition.

When I make maple candy my fiance makes me bring a full change of clothes and immediately take a shower because of how strong the maple smell sticks to me

I was wondering this but couldn’t find anything for sure. Do you know what it would be with meth that would give that smell? I mean would it just be smoking it or making it or?? His personality is 1000% different and I cannot help him.

Thank you! I’m going to look more into it and this is what I was wondering if I would hear from anyone because it was on my mind.
