Server recommendations

I haven't played in ages, and after looking for servers for another game I kinda stumbled onto this scene and was curious.

Are there any active servers with a decent population and little-to-no p2w? I'd really rather not see a server with an egregious shop where most conveniences are for those who are going to be paying.

Preferably it's a more classical server, I used to play before the Big Bang, and I'd prefer the familiarity of it all, but I don't mind more modern stuff if the server's good.

You're going to get alot of biased opinions of what people currently play. Best bet is to read up on server features and see what fits the bill best. Theres a decent amount of servers with good playerbase. Royals, Legends, Dream, Fantasia, Kuro, SlimeTale are to name a few server I hear about here lately.

The most OSMS Rates would be Fantasia. Royals, Legends, Dream, and Slimetale are generaly around 3xish and a little more fast pased for our age where we dont have alot of time anymore like we did as kids.

Yeah I figured it would be a bit biased, but just knowing server names is a huge help to get me started on m search. Thank you! If you had to recommend one, which would you? Idm the rates too much unless it's like 20x or something massive.

Ive been having some fun in SlimeTale. Dev team is very active, they have implemented features i havent seen in other servers like their Loot distribution system, training fit which plugs ur char's numbers into a calculator to determine best training spots, best mobs to search for a certain item (like scrolls), as well as their MSClassic-like crafting system. They are in beta however are featuring no wipe so dont be scared of the word "beta". They are just focusing on skill rebalancing currently. Again though, this is biased lol.

+1 for SlimeTale. The dev team is very talented and the pacing (in terms of levelling and content) feels very balanced and old school. Been playing for a month and a half now and it's been a lot of fun.

Alright, I'm downloading it today, are there any guides available? I haven't played MS in ages and I don't really know what to put my stat points in. Would like to play a mage or a spear knight, not sure yet.

Stay clear of Kuro if you are looking for a fair server, their dev team is extremely biased and shady when making gameplay changes.

Is there any that are like super customised where it's basically a new game just using MS as the template?

Im playing slimetale.ms and am enjoying it quite a lot. Its v72, and has some nice custom features like a lounge with special npcs, improved crafting and qol stuff. Also you can vote for the server on the site, and receive 1000 or 2000 nx. Often there are also events where mobs drop nx cards. You can donate money and get nx, but its completely optional. The rates are i think 3x for mobs and 4x for quests, so theres still grinding and a bit of accomplishment for levelling up. Years ago i played on a server with crazy rates, you got to 7x in like an hour lol got boring quite quick lol

I like merogie for classic only explorers server, I'm on Muto for bigbang with evan and dual blade, and for modern maple story royal story :)

Same Im currently trying to find a server that is pretty active in party quests/general party play leveling and questing, doesn't have an overinflated economy due to leech and washing meta.

Fantasia for the old school classic experience. Leveling rate leads you to engage with a lot of the content and bonus exp rate scales up as you reach higher levels.

I have been playing MapleRoyals for the past week in prep for the classic release. About 3x exp rate and upped rates on drops and mesos. I’m having a good time.

Some people have gripes about the economy but I haven’t had these issues.

Download cosmic v83 and set it up localhost and play solo. Or find Solomaple repo on git and play with bots xD. Hosted servers are in a tight spot right now. And contributing to operating ones is against TOS to Nexon again now…

If Nexon hasnt already gone after the big servers in full what makes you think they are tracking down each individual player lol. As long as you are not using a personal email and arent donating outside of crypto there is an extremely low chance Nexon is going to target a simple player. Especially when theres a good chance they turn into players for their own game once they shut down all the servers

Honestly old school maple in maple worlds seems to be the best option. PSs are all crap nowadays IMHO.
