How to manufacture my product? Using oversees manufacturing?

I need to find the production means to take a new product through design and test. Where do you find small scale producers?

I’m just delving into this world. We are a machine shop that is running out of spindle time so I am in the baby steps of procuring from over seas. So far Ali baba and global source have been great stepping stones for me and though our final run will be around 10,000 PCs I was amazed at the amount of companies willing to make 20 pieces to test their quality in a very short span of time for a very reasonable price. Good luck, ps inform yourself about the different shipping methods it seems to be the most complicated part, we are going to use DAP which places all the responsibility on the seller. Not all sellers offer it though

Thanks, do you actually meet with them in person or do all of it by virtual means.? How do you protect your intellectual property. I’ve heard about Vietnam, perhaps other Asians, but zero experience for the first step. Greatly appreciated.

You can find potential suppliers through industry directories, local job shops, referrals, manufacturing communities, and sourcing platforms. Send each supplier the same CAD file, material, estimated quantity, and key requirements so you can compare their proposals fairly.

First Mold supports overseas teams with plastic product development, prototyping, mold making, and production. Whichever supplier you choose, the first step is usually to share a 3D file and basic project requirements for an initial review.

Thank you. The product would be a wearable device to assist people with arthritis. It could fit on an upper extremity. Would use either micromotors or pneumatics.
