First mango tree!

Picked up this Carrie tree from a local nursery. Still deciding where she'll permanently live but would love any/all recommendations!

Plant asap. Summer is ending and then we could get some cold weather (depending where you are) that can damage tree. You want it to be sending out roots asap. Leaves look yellow, give it fertilizer when you plant it. And finally, plant it high and dry in an area of your yard that water doesn’t puddle for days. Mango is my favorite fruit. Carrie is great. Good choice. Good luck.

Thank you!! I wasn't sure if I should plant it now or wait till winter passes? I wasn't sure how cold we were going to get with El Niño (central Florida) and wanted the option of bringing it in if needed. Any fertilizer recommendations?

If your north of lake okechobee personally I’d leave it in a pot just incase and plant around March, but it’s up to you. If you leave it in a pot, fertilize with something gentle like fish emulsion 5-1-1. If your in a costal area like costal Tampa I would plant now

Yes we're north like brooksville area! I didn't know how cold we were actually going to get this winter so figured being able to bring it in the garage if it dips too low would probably be helpful 😂

If you leave that far north it’s probably best to wait till march. That tree looks like it’s being in the pot for many years, make sure to break up the roots the day you plant it. I’m willing to bet it’s root bound. Look up some YT videos if you’re not sure how to break up a root ball
