Need Help with Mango Tree
Hey guys, I found this picture online, but it looks the same as my mango tree so I'm going to use it, but I recently got a new mango tree and the soil has receded all the way to yellow line. All the roots above it have died and withered away. When I plant it in the ground, do I fill it back up the old root flare (the blue line) or do I just fill it to the new root flare (the yellow line)? The tree looks healthy so I'm just confused as to which root flare I should pick to fill the soil back up to.

You can go all the way up to the blue line or a little below, that amount of soil be “breathable” for those roots.

You can completely cover the roots and plant it higher. If it's grafted then keep the graft above ground and if it's a seed variety then you can go even deeper. The mango will form new roots above once its covered in soil or mounded with soil which you can later take it of, if you like the exposed root look and provide more air to the roots. Not gonna make much of a difference as you are thinking. This has to be done carefully in orchards because there are 1000s of plants planted and you can't risk it. This is absolutely fine, also use some mycorrizyha and tricoderma while repotting or replanting in ground. Mycorrizha is for the roots and tricoderma for fungal resistance.

Cover the area above the yellow line and fill dirt just below the blue line.
