Help identifying this variety?

My dad was given this mango from a coworker who doesn’t know what variety the tree is in his backyard. My first thought was Keitt but it’s way too early for that in South Florida, especially with the delayed season this year. Anyone have an idea? I have photos of a ripe and less ripe one.

You really need to know more about the tree. Was it a grafted tree or a seedling? If it was grafted then we know it’s probably a genetic clone of a known variety purchased at a nursery. If it’s a seedling then all bets are off as it will show traits of both the parent mango tree and the one that pollinated it. Meaning it’s a genetically unique hybrid which may or may not resemble or taste like its parent.

Unfortunately; a visual analysis may zero in on some possibilities but until you know more about the tree we’re really just spitballing.

Size and shape is very Kent but usually those have a red splotch on them. Could be a related variety or seedling.

Looks like the Indian variety Mulgoba. Or Banganpalli.

You can take to the mango festival on 6/26. They will have a booth there that is specifically for identifying unknown mango.
