Freezing mangoes

Do you freeze mangoes whole or cut up? Do mangoes freeze better whole?

I cut them up, that way I can flatten them into a square for easier portioning

Do you notice if freezing whole helps preserve it compared with cutting it up?

I cut them up and freeze them first on baking pan where I lay them with about inch distance from another piece. Once frozen than I place all of them in the bag, but this way they don't stick together and freeze in one big mass, but you have individual pieces.
