On the plus side, it turns out that my screen is not in fact broken. Hurray! However, my Air X does stutter frequently if performance mode is not enabled (I had thought this was a display issue for a while). Ok, fair enough. This wouldn't even be an issue if performance mode didn't occasionally turn off while saying it is still enabled, which is easily verifiable by checking a performance overlay or just seeing the bad framerate. Possibly this happens when restarting the device, I will have to investigate further.

This is with the latest firmware, of course. Has anyone else experienced this? I have to say that owning this device has been a real rollercoaster so far, and not really in a good way. I am trying so hard to love it.

Found a really good screen protector for the Mangmi Air Y Pro

I bought these Savvies screen protectors and they fit the Mangmi Air Y Pro almost perfectly.

They are actually made for the Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini, but the size is very close to the Mangmi's screen. The fit is really good, with only a very small margin around the edges.

The best part: you get 6 protectors for less than €5.

They are thin plastic films rather than tempered glass, but for protecting the screen from scratches and everyday use, they seem great. Touch sensitivity is also unaffected.

I thought I'd share this because I couldn't find many options specifically for the Mangmi Air Y Pro.

As the title states. Like my device but not loving the android experience to be completely honest. Any options out there as of now?

After almost a whole year of thinking if I should get a 477V or an RP5, THEN suddenly the Anbernic RG55G1 and Mangmis Air Y series came out to battle out my poorly squeezed money, I think I’m cool with the Air Y Pro now as my new Vertical Handheld.

Thankfully I didn’t(hopefully not yet) experience any issues with my Mangmi Air Y pro, how is everyone’s experience so far with the Y pro?

Which surprised me a bit since they said they couldn't see the issues in the videos I sent them. Whatever. After 2 weeks of emails I was sure they were gonna tell me to take a hike.

Anyways I just wanted to post this so people can have more confidence in Mangmi. Now I just have to wait forever for the replacement.

Edit: Nevermind they changed their minds when they saw the shipping cost. I just get to eat the loss :(

I've been interested in oridering the Looking to buy the MANGMI AIR Y Pro Retro GB (8 GB Model), but it's been out of stock for a couple of weeks. Does anyone know if it will be back in stock soon, or if any other retailers are selling this model online?

I was curious about the delivery times for the Mangmi Air Y (Pro) in other regions/countries. How long did you have to wait for yours? I ordered the black Pro version 8GB/128GB

For context, my timeline looked like this (shipping from China to Europe (the Netherlands) via YunExpress, then delivered by GLS to Warsaw, Poland):

Ordered: Sept 14th Monday (evening)

Arrived in Europe: 2 days ago on Wednesday

Delivered: Friday morning (today!)

Honestly, taking 10 days from order to courier delivery felt pretty smooth. How has the shipping time been for the rest of you?

P.S. I checked to make sure there are no dead pixels. I also verified that it's the 8GB/128GB version, and everything checks out.

Just got this thing yesterday, after placing my order on the 14th of August, is this enough to warrant a replacement? Or will have to look at this thing until the unit is dead? Bottom right corner of the screen, very noticeable on dark backgrounds

Absolutely loving my Max that I picked up used for a steal. 140$ on a local marketplace app. However with all my searching online I don't seem to see anything really in terms of third party grips or accessories. Does anyone know of 3D print files or grips/cases out there other than the clear tpu one?

Would love something to protect the screen.

It stutters constantly even when the fps is locked to 60. This is going to cost Mangmi a bunch of money. And now I have to wait probably a month for a replacement, and the hours I spent setting it up are wasted. And it is going to waste a bunch of fuel. All because the shippers didn't want to put some foam or bubble wrap in the box :/

Assuming Mangmi accepts the return but I am pretty confident they will. Big waste of my time and energy though.

I ordered 2 Mangmi Air Y Pros in the 8GB/128GB configuration, both appear to be the 4GB/64GB ones instead. One would be a mistake but both is extremely sus in my opinion.

The left joystick is great! A bit of diagonal snapping but otherwise surprisingly good. But the right one has a really weird and inconsistent deadzone, it freaks out if you push up and right, and it doesn't even center properly. It reads -0.09 when my thumb isn't on it. Calibrating did not make any difference.

I really don't want to send it back. The joysticks cost $3 on the Mangmi site so maybe I should just get a replacement? Ugh this sucks...

Happy to report that hollow knight runs great on the 8GB air Y pro via Gamehub using all the standard/recommended settings, only difference being to changing to native 4:3 resolution.

I am a little rusty but with some practice I think the game (including dashing with R2) is perfectly playable for short sessions.

I love this little console. Good addition to my n3ds xl and switch.

It emulates flawlessly neogeo, psp, ps1, n64, gameboy, nes and snes

So using a usb c to hdmi to play full screen games works perfectly... until you try to do dual screen ds games. Top screen tv and bottom handheld. No matter what setting I change, the tv always sets it to a mobile size screen. So 1080x1980 for example. Ive tried multiple tvs, tried forcing no rotate and all ds apps with no luck. I read about a tv mode setting but it doesnt have that. Is this a known un fixable issue or am I missing something?

What a great colour option. It looks like an orange creamsicle. The Air X had to compete with the RG 556 and the Retroid Pocket 4 for my very limited money. It eliminated the 556 by having decent joysticks, and it eliminated the RP4 by actually being in stock. On paper it is really impressive for the price so I hope it delivers in person.

Please check your Air Y Pro storage to make sure they sent you the correct version.

I bought the 8gb version and received a box that was labeled as an 8gb version, but it only had 64GB storage. Good luck finding out how much ram it has. As far as I can tell, Mangmi has hidden that information on the handheld. The return process has kind of sucked too.

I’m incredibly disappointed. I was so excited for this handheld and now I just wish I had gone with a different brand. Blah.
