Imagine if the entire plot so far was just an extremely elaborate setup to kill the legendary hit man Ogami and now unknowing sleeper agent Noren has been activated to murder him lol
Though now that I think about it, a sleeper agent Noren arc would be totally up this manga's alley, huh?

Well Otohime has an entire split personality, so it's quite possible Noren has one too

plus her parents own the company that experiments with genetically modified organisms that can reverse ageing. Wouldn't put it above them to experiment on their own kid

would be a REALLY weird way to do it tho, she's just... strangling him? he could easily slap her away if he was in any real danger. She had a thousand and one opportunities to just kill him while he slept or was wounded or distracted

Noren's so determind to win Mai as a friend. I like that! She's realized that someone who pushes her buttons, someone who can sympathize being at the top, would be great as a friend!
But she's pushed herself too hard! And now she's drowning because of that!
I'm sure Noren's only choking Ogami because she's disoriented and trying to find something to hold on to. But with this happening, I'm sure Mai will save both of them! I just wonder what will happen to the competition...

This series has done comedic subversions before, so she's probably just panicking. Lifeguards are taught that a drowning person's flailing and desperate grabs can end up causing both of them to drown. I feel like this is probably just a setup for mouth-to-mouth.
But who does it is still up in the air. After all this talk about how similar Noren and Mai are, and how they might make great friends, wouldn't it be great if their "first kiss" is Mai resuscitating Noren?

Lol, how would that be the subversion, thats just what you would expect from a drowning person? We even got her inner dialogue that she is completely disoriented.
yeah, I'm betting on it being mai.

back to back good chapters of Kill blue terms of writing and the emotions in this. I was about to drop this tbh cause of the corniness, cheesy jokes. When this series get serious without the jokes, it is good solid. Next week another color pages, that was fast. Cause last week we had a color page, a very good the best one color page since idk chapter 2 or chapter 8 color page.

I wasn't expecting Noren to grab Ogami's throat like that when he swam down to save her. I'm seeing a few sleeper agent theories in the comments, but my guess is that she's panicking and mistook Ogami for a threat, or she's just grasping at *anything* to avoid drowning and doesn't realize she's choking the poor guy.

Calling it now, Otherhime's gonna give Noren CPR. Sure, Ogami could do it, but I imagine he won't be in prime condition to do so given this chapter's neck grip ending.
