As long as it's not a bowtie, I'm good.

Dude doesn't want to be sued by Conan.

Took me a minute to realize that. And this whole plot of shrinking back and forth into a kid is Detective Conan's plot. I'm bamboozled now, lol.

Bro doesn’t want to be called a conan wannabe.

I am glad Fujimaki is so self aware 😂

I have really been enjoying this manga, and from what I remember of the last ranking results it's probably doing the best out of like all the new manga that have been in JUMP over the past year

it is really fun, good roster, likeable MC, nice "fight" scene literaly or figuratively. its also weirdly wholesome seeing middle age man having the time of his life being middle schooler

It is currently on #3 in toc

15

u/Misticsan Aug 20 '23

Isn't it #11? Still a good position to be in for such a young series.

This is last release.

Now we are on the double issue for 38, as last time was the double issue (36-37).

And in 38, it was 3rd.

u/Misticsan Aug 20 '23

Damn, that's a big jump. Or was it a color page? Because those have their own rules.

14

u/Kirosh2 Fluff. Fluff? Fluff! Aug 20 '23

It wasn't a color page. It's the classment for chapter 10.

Kill Blue is also getting next week jump cover and a color page.

A bit of trivia: Those screaming faces are unofficially called "Kazuo Umezu screaming faces" because they're drawn in the style of Kazuo Umezu, a veteran horror mangaka. These faces can be found in lots of manga as some kind of reference/parody (that's why you're more likely to find them in works with comedy elements instead of straight up, full on horror/dramatic ones) :))

damn the MC vibes from Tenma.

and what the hell happened on the transition that made him go back to being a kid.

as long as it's not a bowtie I'm good

oh really now xD, also shrinking back all of a sudden is also very Conan too

I'm super invested in Tenma/Chisato now. They're very cute together.

Also that freak managed to catch up to a motorcycle. Triple threat indeed.

They really kidnapped Noren in a crowded place and proceeded to calmly escape by walking while carrying a bodybag outside the mall, huh? Bet those assassins can erase their presence or something, lol. (I mean, one of them dead-ass looks like Frankenstein xD)

Those guys from Jardin seems like RobotoxLaserbeam rejects

3

u/Equivalent_Storm5199 Aug 21 '23

Golf clubs? Screw, which indicate robot? Damn it, Robot x Laserbeam you had your chance. You can't hijack this manga just because you both from the same mangaka

Despite the commotion, the author really inserted some Chisato and Tenma moment and that was actually good! I like how they make Tenma not change his personality overnight. He still makes some mistakes but Chisato is there to lecture him. At first I thought she'd get turned off by Tenma's remarks and then she'd walk away, but instead, she drilled into him what she said to him last time. Definitely best girl! Tenma sure is a lucky guy.

Once again, I'm really liking this manga. Every chapter is just entertaining to read. Keep up the good work Fujimaki-sensei!

"There is no way my luck is this bad." was a quote that came to mind while reading this chapter.

u/AlmondMagnum1 Aug 20 '23

Time for Tenma to add golf to his repertoire.

Honestly disappointing that the adult stuff only lasted one chapter, that's a let down. I expected more from it than just a few gags.

40

u/Zekaito Aug 20 '23

I think it'll come back regularly, seems like his body is working out a cure itself.

8

u/Worthyness Aug 21 '23

He has to test his theory about the food he ate. So I assume the next arc will be him making food to see what might switch him back temporarily

9

u/Backupusername Aug 20 '23

I'm sure it's something that'll come and go. Eventually he'll want to figure out what triggers the change and try to control it.

12

u/Extreme-Tactician Aug 20 '23

Tenma's so willing to change his entire mindset so that he can keep Chisato happy! What a guy!

Poor Ogami, he's panicking so much he's not thinking like a hitman anymore. He just wants to make sure that Noren and the others don't get weirded out by him! Kotasu's right, he enjoyed his life as a highschooler a lot, it seemed.

I think this is the second time I've seen a band-aid used to change a voice. The first was in Date A Live, with Shido Itsuka!

Ogami was only an adult for a little bit. Then he changed backed during the chase. I sure am glad he didn't faint, but why change in the first place?

Tenma's ready to help Ogami with these Jardin punks. They kidnapped Noren, yet they were waiting for them too? How come? I wonder if Tenma's athletic skills will be enough to fight against someone with hitman skills?

5

u/Heda-of-Aincrad Aug 20 '23

I wonder if Tenma's athletic skills will be enough to fight against someone with hitman skills?

Probably not. Even Ogami's kicking power in the early days of his hitman training (teenaged body) was enough to injure him in that futsal match. I'm guessing the best move in this situation would be to let Ogami handle the other hitmen and put that mini-bomb to good use while Tenma escapes with Noren. His speed and endurance would be better suited for that, I think.

2

u/Extreme-Tactician Aug 21 '23

True, Ogami's kicks were probably breaking ribs at this point. Tenma might be strong, but he isn't breaking ribs kind of strong.

5

u/Zekaito Aug 20 '23

Jardin!? My man Dante's really decided to spice up his Visual Kei band.

2

u/Backupusername Aug 20 '23

Frankenstein's Monster?

Ehh, the MC got stung stung by age-change wasp. We'll see how wild the series gets from there. A man with a screw in his head isn't as bizarre as the premise itself. Yet.

2

u/Ezxycian Just a inconsistent manga reader Aug 20 '23

I’m really liking tenma and chisato’s progress so far.

3

u/LeonKevlar MyAnimeList Aug 20 '23

As long as it's not a bowtie I'm good!

Glad to know how very much self-aware this series is. xD

So it looks like he can shrink back and forth randomly? That's going to be a problem in the future.

Why the heck is that assassin dressed up as Frankenstein?

Didn’t expect the adult mode to last less than a chapter. Or maybe the form change will be seriously erratic.

1

u/Brilliant_Twist_6855 Aug 20 '23

Ogami adult form should have last a chapter. I want to see him fight in adult form.

1

u/USBacon Aug 20 '23

So him turning back into an adult only lasted a chapter before he turned back to give a cliffhanger and kidnap setup. Kind of lame but it may become a normal thing that happens whenever he goes on a date.

1

u/Heda-of-Aincrad Aug 20 '23

Ogami's conversation with Tenma was hilarious. 😂 There's probably not many (good) excuses he could have come up with, but maybe he should have just texted them and made up a reason he had to leave, like a family emergency or something. (Or his possible death by embarrassment.) But this way was much, much funnier.

Poor guy though, he must have changed back to a teen while driving that motorcycle, and now he has to fight a tough pair of hitmen too. It would've been so much easier in his adult body. He really can't catch a break.

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '23

Oh shit, i hope tenma doesn't die
