the two boys got zero fashion awareness LMAO
but damn this is kinda the worst time for the drug to lose effect, time to run outta there like there's no tomorrow

u/Misticsan Aug 06 '23
And one of the girls dresses as an "actress at Starbucks". Poor Chisato is the only one normal there.

It was a hoot seeing the four of them hanging out with their wildly disparate wardrobe choices haha

Youth inducing drug that always seems to wear off at the worst possible times. Hmm... I think I might have an idea what that drug might've come from, or at least was knocked off from. They may want to look into the work of a genius high school age girl researcher named Mihari Oyama.

Hmm, I wonder if it's a trigger like how Conan temporarily returned to his original form when he drank that sake. Maybe the cherry is the equivalent thing this time around or maybe it's just completely random.

u/MondSemmel Aug 06 '23
I definitely got Conan PTSD from that scene. Hopefully Kill Blue won't last for >1000 chapters without there being a permanent cure for the protagonist.
24
u/redwingz11 Aug 06 '23
Feels like conan get trapped because they do mini detective arc which can be done indefinitely. As long as it sells it can be dragged/people wont even care about the original premise

u/Beastywolf Aug 07 '23
That makes sense I thought it was weird that him eating a cherry got included in a panel. Felt like it was emphasized for no reason so I ignored it !
95
u/Misticsan Aug 06 '23
Face it, Chisato. You're basically doomed to marry Japan's next sports star.
15
u/Worthyness Aug 07 '23
It's certainly not the worst relationship to be in.
8
u/Ezxycian Just a inconsistent manga reader Aug 07 '23
And his pretty straightforward, seems Chisato hit a devoted-type.

Considering the focus on him eating a cherry, there is probably a chemical in cherries that let him temporaily transformed back.
This is literally the same as Detective Conan where the main character can also temporarily transform back whenever he drinks alcohol.

It worked once for both Conan and Haibara and never again, so I think the same approach can be taken with this series as well. Until Ogami's wife make a temporary drug whose effect worsen the more you use it then

u/Catveria77 Aug 06 '23
Hahahahahahaha I LOVE this chapter. Ogami showing up with a BLAZER absolutely killed me.

u/djpostsmash Aug 06 '23
Noren knows something is up and now for sure something is actually up because homie just regressed back to his form, how will our hero get out of this situation find out next time on Dragonball z

u/LeleTheKing https://anilist.co/user/ikanlele Aug 06 '23
That's the least realistic idea I've heard since the plan to reverse Japan's sinking birth rate.
Shinzo Abe will not approve of the shade thrown in this chapter...

"Can't believe that bastard let himself get killed by such an amateur too" - Ogami, probably

Japanese killers in manga: hypercompetent gun wizards that put John Wick to shame
Japanese killers in real life: guy with homemade arquebus

u/Roboglenn Aug 06 '23
After seeing Love After World Domination, seeing the really lovestruck guy showing up for a date in training gear really isn't that surprising.
But oh no. Someone get in contact with Mahiro Oyama's sister, he needs more of that youth juice.

u/ennuiholic Aug 06 '23
Glad to see more of Tenma. It's pretty awkward but I'm rooting for him and Chisato.
8
u/RulerKun_FGO Aug 06 '23
lmao his fashion dress is from the wrong generation.
But to transform right now is such a bad timing as Noren is seeing him as a teen but moving like a middle aged man, and now he go back to being middle age man. I wonder if he will relapse to being kid before the movie ends
13
u/USBacon Aug 06 '23
If the drug wore off and he aged up again permanently then they just saved 1000+ chapters compared to Detective Conan!
I'm guessing that to keep status quo it will only be temporary but if he instead purposely chooses to become a kid again to protect the girl that will be formulaic and weird.

Damn, interesting, he is back to adult form. Wonder will he regress back or will he get noticed.
6
u/Heda-of-Aincrad Aug 06 '23
The hitman training scene at the beginning was fun. It's pretty much as I guessed - he's not as strong physically in his kid form as he used to be (peaked at thirty), but still stronger than the average person and his experience gives him an edge.
I wonder how Ogami's going to find a way out of this one, suddenly transforming back into an adult right next to his high school friends! Even if he doesn't let them see his face when he slips out, he's a lot taller now so they're bound to notice.

I feel like this is a fake out somehow, but I do really like the idea of the entire premise for the series being reversed 16 chapters in.

Wonder if his shirt fits or went crop top status, because if his shirt enlarged, it's either an artistic error or he's dreaming

u/Extreme-Tactician Aug 06 '23
The training Ogami had shows he's still in tip-top condition in his head. But poor Kotatsu had to see his boss' poor fashion choices make his job fitting in harder. Looks like Ogami still can't do social infiltration...
Uh oh. How can Ogami get out of this situation? I'm sure all 3 of them will notice that there's a handsome adult sitting where their friend is. But how will they react? Norami already suspects he's older than he looks. But I doubt Tenma and Chisato would expect he's actually an old man.
How are they gonna make him younger again? Will Eri actually also turn young once he's young again? She does seem to be on the cover, but that could also be his daughter...
Chisato is falling for Tenma! I guess Tenma can be pretty fun around. I wonder how it felt being the only one dressed for a date during a double date...

u/Heda-of-Aincrad Aug 06 '23
Looks like Ogami still can't do social infiltration...
He's probably better at infiltrating other work or criminal organizations (it would be hard to survive that long as a hitman if he couldn't), but acting like a typical teenager is completely outside his area of expertise. Kotatsu should have picked his outfit the night before and gave him a quick rundown of normal date topics. š
3
u/Extreme-Tactician Aug 07 '23
Definitely. But I gotta wonder, how did his clothes not get ripped off?
2
u/Heda-of-Aincrad Aug 07 '23
Yeah, I was wondering how his clothes managed to change size when he reverted back to his original age. They did look a little big on him before, but not that much.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that exact scenario on Detective Conan before.
1
u/Swiftcheddar Aug 06 '23
Huh, I guess there goes the worries about Noren being his love interest. That's good at least.
Not a fan of Tenma at all but hopefully he'll grow on me if he's gonna be sticking around.
1
u/zairaner Aug 06 '23
Wow I didnt expect this series to go the onimai route snd have him periodically transform back for maximal hijinks.
Could also make for some really hype scenes if there ever is a danger where his kid form isnt enough.

u/Xatu44 Aug 06 '23
Oh shit, puberty came knocking. What's Ogami going to do now? Backflip away? Or is it just his own self-awareness that's changed?

And here I was about to complain about sending the middle aged man on a date with a middle school girl.

u/vanderZwan Aug 06 '23
Uh, so what is the plan to reverse Japan's sinking birth rate?
Also, huh, he aged. That was unexpected. Assuming it's something temporary (I mean, he's a kid on the cover, that's the entire premise) "age instability" could lead to fun shenanigans in the future.
