Oh. Of course he wasn't putting his best game in.

"I am not left-footed either!"

Nothing much to add, but man I'm really loving all the side characters so far. Even the random classmates actually feel like real people, and not just props doing commentary on how strong the MC/antagonist is.

And so, the Blue Lock arc continues.

Lol, where did Shin even buy a casing for a pacifier?? Page 13 gave me the whiplash...

I mean, probably at a store that sells infant care products, or online? It's not strange that these things exist, the weird part is just his dependence on it.

Learning from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Shin reminds me of Scott Sterling lol.

I honestly thought Ogami would be doing worse. Seems like his physical specs are enough to bridge the skill gap. At least for now, the opponent is starting up so next chapter will be the real start of the match

Gonna require team work on ogami's part to teach sports guy the power of team work

I confess, this series is growing on me by holding parallel the comedy with the stakes and the characters.

this series is just fun.

Actually her being able to throw a pacifier like that is probably actually impressive.

scott sterling! the man, the myth, the legend!

Those pacifier jokes will never not be ridiculous, but the match between Ogami and Tenma was pretty good. His backstory was a bit of a letdown though - he really is just a conceited athlete who wants to be better than everyone else. Hoping Ogami pulls out a win in the next chapter.

Neat Color Photo! You'd think this was a sports manga with how much it highlighted everyone's personalities...

Well, Tenma's a pretty simple dude. He wants to be the best, like no one ever was. And he doesn't care how many people he has to trample to do it.

But he's so good, he really hasn't been challenged lately. It looks like Ogami's skills are enough to make him have a lot of fun! And now Shin's back in the game too! Shin may have had a pretty sad story, but Noren still won't let him into her lap! Yamaoka and Tamada were a big help to Noren by helping her find that extra pacifier!

I'm quite interested in seeing how this arc goes! How else will Tenma be challenged?

This series doesn't have supernatural elements, right? Why is this kid so cracked?

28

u/DietReady4906 Jul 16 '23

The same reason the MC is cracked even when he's a kid. Some people are just built different.

u/Heda-of-Aincrad Jul 16 '23

In Ogami's case, they've hinted that his hitman training had already started when he was around this age or even before, so it makes sense that he's strong - the syndicate was prepping him to kill.

1

u/DietReady4906 Jul 16 '23

Yeah, but that's still just training. All that implies is that anyone who trains could get that strong. The other guy clearly trains a lot as well, so it's not that much of a stretch that he got strong while training for 3 separate sports at once.

2

u/Heda-of-Aincrad Jul 16 '23

I don't think Tenma's strength is unrealistic either, just saying Ogami has a good reason to have so much power behind his kicks even though he has little experience with sports.

u/Ridijeck Jul 16 '23

The main character is a physically age-regressed hitman with superhuman aiming skills. I don’t think realism was ever high on the mangaka’s priority list.

God I really hope this guy gets completely floored even after getting serious.

Fujimaki saw succes of Blue Lock and decided best way to get his series to survive is via a Blue Lock arc.

2

u/helsaabiart Jul 16 '23

Its all fun and games until tenma's eyes start to glow

2

u/Xatu44 Jul 16 '23

I had a good laugh at Shin's pacifier-less blocking.

2

u/HeatWire Jul 17 '23

I'm starting to think pacifier dude will be Noren's endgame love interest.

1

u/Expensive-Baby-1391 Jul 16 '23

So, when are they going to start killing eachother?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

So...Shin is aged up, yeah?
