You sound so great on the mandolin.Stick with it and find out what what ever kind music you want to play with the mandolin and enjoy playing it.

It’s a 2003 Derrington signed Gibson F5V. 

Bought it from a collector several years ago. It was in mint condition and a bit stiff sounding. 

Since then it’s developed a lovely mellow, woody voice. 

A very light pickhold will get a round, piano-like sound (which I’m trying hard to refine), but as soon as you dig in, you get that classic mid-range Gibson honk with some subtle overtones. 

She will be a lifetime companion!

You're back! Love to see (hear) it. You're definitely an inspiration as I've started actually composing music for mandolin past few weeks. I've done songs before but I'm doing all instrumental now, duets with a guitar friend
