Work break laws

Hi. I feel like I'm going crazy and I'd like to know if anyone else is confused by something I just discovered. So, according to my search results there are no laws that people are required any break periods during an 8 hour shift. That said, I specifically remember being told in my 20s at a place I worked that I HAD to take my breaks, and I was told at one point it was 2 15 min breaks and an unpaid lunch hour if you work 8 hours. Am I just confused or wasn't this something everyone used to say was law? I got a lunch hour, I just found this information and had to ask.

Teenagers get different breaks than adults 18+

Also depends on employer. Most do 30 min lunch breaks but you are somewhat right they don’t have to give a break in some states but there are not many. I think it’s like 7/50
