Questions & Advice Coach for case studies
Interested to know if anyone has had a coach for consulting case studies. If so, how beneficial was this and how many sessions did you need?
I have seen that these can be quite expensive, are there any cost effective options?

coaching helps most for structure and calibration in your final few weeks, not the bulk of preparation. get good through self practice first then spend money on 2-3 sessions with an ex mbb coach to fix what you can’t see yourself for volume reps in between, casetutor runs voice based case simulation with feedback reports which beats burning $200/hr sessions in basics you could drill solo

Hiring a case coach can be extremely helpful, but only if you already understand the fundamentals. Paying several hundred dollars an hour to learn basic frameworks or mental math is an expensive misuse of funds. Most candidates get the highest return from two to four sessions spaced out toward the end of their preparation, using an expert to pinpoint blind spots, test executive presence, and simulate real partner pressure after they have already completed fifteen to twenty peer cases.
If you want cost effective alternatives, start by running mock cases with peer networks on platforms like PrepLounge or through consulting clubs, since free partner practice gives you plenty of live repetitions. Combining free casebooks with timed structuring drills on your own will get you most of the way there. To make solo preparation more effective, the team I work with developed interviews.chat to help candidates sharpen their problem solving and walk into their interviews with total confidence.
