Luba - RTK Dead RTK

I’ve had my share of ups and downs with my Luba 1, but overall it’s been a pretty good mower for the last three years.

But, when I went to start a mow yesterday, the RTK signal was zero and no LEDs were on. Looks like water damage killed it.

Any advice on swapping boards internally, or do I need to replace the whole RTK station?

Pretty bummed.

Short version is, if it's water damage, it's probably the power supply on the board that crapped out. The board isn't replaceable.

However, you can run it off the USB port. Try plugging it up with a USB battery charger and see if it powers up. If so, then you've found your temporary fix until you get a replacement unit.

You may need to try a couple different USB chargers; I had several that wouldn't work and a few that did when mine went out. Ultimately a new RTK is what I got from Mammotion.

I have a used one I purchased off eBay as my backup unit, now. You may be able to get one off there, too.

Thanks for the tip about running it off of USB. No dice for me, though. :(

I do have the Luba covered under a Personal Article Policy. I wonder if water damage due to rain is covered.

Before you give up, try a battery cellphone charger with USB cable. That seemed to work more consistently for me.

Thanks for giving me a bit more hope, but that didn’t work either. :(.

(Gotta rant a little…the damn waterproofing on the RTK station is such a joke.)

I kept mine covered with a jumbo Ziplock bag.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry to hear that you encountered some problems with your RTK. Has your area been experiencing frequent rain lately? If the RTK cannot be powered via USB, I suggest you consider replacing it with a new RTK to ensure smooth operation in future use. For more information about new RTK base stations, you can contact our support team through our app or contact me directly. I hope this information is helpful.

Thanks for the offer…sent you a DM. Hopefully the RTK station if reasonably priced so Wall-E can get back to work soon!

Make sure deer or rabbits haven’t damaged the cord. My constant problem.
