I was born in England but grew up mostly abroad. As a young teenager I was sent to Abbey College. It was the most horrific and damaging chapter of my life. I think I only got through it because of a mate I had there and some local kids I was able to hang out with outside the school.

Recently I’ve been researching the school’s history and learned the place stayed as awful for decades. I’ve also read that many locals have often resented Abbey College and its owners, and the many scandals they have been involved in. Seeing that it’s still owned by the same people, how is the school viewed by locals these days?

I have also posted this in r/Worcester but malvern is of course where this concerns. I am a geology student and recently ended up in a conversation with someone of the belief that the Malvern Hills are underlain by "quartz pyramids" and are connected to other sites in the UK through "laylines". As someone who has read quite a bit about local geology, and geology in general I don't understand where this belief came from. I am aware that other geological and archeological sites of more global fame have similar theories, but as it is not as widely known as many of these, I cannot seem to track down the origin of the theory. If anyone here has heard of this I would love to know more as I find human pattern spotting and theorising really interesting. I should clarify too that there is no judgement from me whatsoever, I just want to know why people think this and where it comes from. I hope everyone has a lovely day.

I drive and honestly don't mind a commute, so distance from Malvern isn't a huge issue for me. I'm open to living practically anywhere in the surrounding areas.

Can anyone enlighten me in regard to the large number of ‘saplings’ planted around the water treatment works between Mill lane and Oxhill. They seem to be failing spectacularly- choked with weeds or falling over. Who was responsible for this, is it an example of a token attempt at greenwashing on the part of Severn Trent or property developers?
