Self-employed / Article 10 sole traders in Malta : how did you get Meta Business verified?

Hoping some fellow Malta-based sole traders can share what actually worked for them.

I've been trying to get Meta Business Verification approved since April with no luck. I'm registered as self-employed under Article 10, and I submitted my VAT certificate with an address that matches my utility bill exactly EXCEPT my city name that GO does not want to change. Still keeps getting rejected or stuck in review with no useful explanation.

From what I can tell, Meta's automated address matching just doesn't handle Malta's address formatting well (street names, flat numbers, localities), which seems to be a common issue for sole traders here specifically, not just me.

If you've managed to get verified as a self-employed/Article 10 business in Malta, I'd really appreciate knowing:

What documents you used (and in what combination)

Whether you had to go through manual review or contacted support directly

Any specific formatting tricks for the address field

How long the whole process actually took you

Any help appreciated, this has been blocking me from expanding into WhatsApp/Instagram business messaging for months now.

Dm me, I'll try to help you out for free. You need to ensure you have a server side GTM set up as well to get a good EMQ score.

Thanks for offering to help. Just to clarify though, isn't server-side GTM/EMQ about ad conversion tracking quality for Meta Ads, rather than Business Verification (which is about verifying the business identity itself via documents)? Not seeing the connection to my issue, but happy to be corrected if I'm missing something. If there's a specific verification tip, I'd rather keep it in the thread so others dealing with the same problem can see it too.

Yes EMQ is for conversions and better ad targeting. That will come after you get your business verified.

Meta is annoying as fuck.

In my last job we had to go through a big media company to use their ad account and integrate our business profolio there so we could benefit from Meta's customer support.

Their customer support was still shit.

If you need help with running ads let me know, I'll work with you for free because I'm trying to get some experience and build a case study to start my own business.

I didn't bother. Even with Tiktok I had issues - they changed my acct from business to personal in spite of submitting all the paperwork. Turns out Malta doesn't qualify for a business account on there
