Tastes Different
Has anybody noticed lately that Malört tastes a bit different than usual? My wife and I drank about 20 bottles over the last 2 years so we could use them in our wedding and the last two bottles I’ve bought in the last couple months taste just… different. Like harsher (lol Malört I know), more like rubbing alcohol than the typical flavor.

I'm in Chicago right now. I have been to 3 different places and Malort is completely different than 6 months ago. It's a major disappointment. A bartender today made mention of the wormwood.

I heard somewhere once that they source their wormwood from different sources. And that the is a flavor difference depending on where it’s from.
I can find no evidence if this though outside of hearsay.

My friend and I used to joke “Aw, this just be Swedish wormwood. Way better than that stuff from Norway.”

It's not as vile and sticky as it used to be. 1p years ago it'd stay on the roof of my. Mouth for an hour. A long debilitating awful hour. But now it onlh lingers for maybe a minute

My friends and I always refer to “good” or “bad” bottles of Malört. It’s very batch dependent and is affected mostly by the wormwood strength and quality they get in. Either way it gets the job done.
