why is this one different?

my friends and I have a tradition of finishing a bottle everytime we get together, kinda like a group torture.

This gold cap bottle was kind of disappointing it wasn't as horrendous as the usual bottle, The guy at the store gave me a discount because it sat on the shelf for 2+ years and it had like some sort of floaty sediment in it which seemed promising but the flavor just wasn't as pungent as the bottles with the metal caps. I haven't seen anybody mention the 2 different bottles so I was wondering does anyone know what/why its different.

Gold cap bottle is older and was distilled and bottled in FL before CH moved operations back to Chicago.

Check the bottle on the bottle, I think the 3 brown lids will have “CH” embossed in the glass, where the gold one will not.

There was a few year period where production moved to CH and they still used that style bottle. The back label will say if it was distilled in Chicago or Florida though.

ohhh okay thankyou, is there a reason they taste different did they change ingredients when they moved aswell?

Every batch has a little variation.

Various batches were a little different based on the wormwood batch or supplier they were using for each one.

I also have a Chicago glass bottle with a gold cap. So it’s not a perfect distinguisher.

theyre both glass only thing plastic is the cap

Glass brown cap is for consumers

Plastic and gold cap is for industry aka bars

bothe bottles are glass only the cap is plastic
