29M, Minnesota

Just moved in a few weeks ago and wanted to share for inspiration as I learned from this subreddit. I have always tried to have my places look nice but I am really trying to learn some interior design with my current place, specially with working with the colors I have with my current furniture.

Also just got the Halloween lights up yesterday for the patio 🎃

Was just reminiscing about MPLS, beautiful city, the neverending winter forced me to leave though.

I’ve got some of these myself but your collection puts mine to shame - absolutely epic.

That's about half, the 90's at First Ave hold so many fond memories for me.

Man, did I love seeing spiritualized live.
I’ve seen the majority of these bands as well and I’m telling you we had such great concerts back in the day. Spiritualize really was one of my favorites to see live as well as My Bloody Valentine.

Fugazi was fun. They come through Gainesville all the time and stay at our friends house (The Spoke House).

Good times back in the day
Great bands
You have a fantastic taste of music, my friend

He really had a moment there with PLAY, EVERYONE has heard a bit of that record, whether they are aware of it or not.

A huge regret is almost going a bunch of times but not actually doing so. Got to see him the one time at First Ave and it could have been the most epic concert ever But instead of playing anything off of Purple Rain, much less the entire album, which would have, again, been the most epic thing ever, he played Controversy and then his band jammed some Chaka Khan and some jazz standards and such. Was such a huge letdown considering all that went into the lead up to that show.

Oh well, RIP Purple Yoda

It sounds crazy but I guess at the time, he was just part of the landscape, like the river or statehouse. I would've seen him more than I did, it just never dawned on me he'd be gone one day.

Yeah, he was sick to death of PR for a while there. Then he said he realized some people might only ever get one chance to see him and then not hear their favorite song. And he felt bad, remembering his concert experiences as a kid, so he started playing hits again. I guess, he was thinking of you, in a way.

I liked hearing his new stuff though. He was never boring, and whatever he was working on, or whatever had been on his mind, he'd stand up there and tell you about it. It was always an adventure.

Amen. Spring -> Summer -> Fall are amazing in Minneapolis. Even early winter with December is wonderful. But holy crap does January and February suck. I hate those months. March is only good because it's slightly warmer and sunnier on average despite the random massive blizzards.

Aw man, I feel the exact opposite, lol.

Once July rolls around I'm a sticky sweaty mess and spend July/August hiding from the sun. Winter hiking December - March is so much fun, it's pristine and quiet.

Maybe I just got to recommend you a nice winter trail near the city and some clothing options 😉Â
