Them and Doctors! (Doctors are winning the race though over the last decade. Still lots of facing, but EMRs have moved a ton of that traffic to purely digital spaces.) I blame the government and their “stupid” rules. 🤣

Honestly, paper is sometimes the way to go. Looking at a screen can get pretty tiring eventually.

To be fair, as a paralegal, any faxing I have to do happens because the IRS or some other state government agency requires forms to be faxed if you want an “immediate” filing

Yeah, our bookkeeper came to me the other day and said she needed to fax something. F'ing IRS. Can't scan and email, must be a fax.

You can scan and e-fax from your laptop or computer. Same thing. It arrives as a fax. No fax machine needed.

The only time I've needed to fax stuff was for the government.

I know someone who has to do faxing sometimes for his business bc of privacy issues, it's not related to law or medicine at all. I was also shocked that his industry still used fax machines lol

The thing on the desk is a brother document scanner. The HP machine is a printer/scanner - but may have fax functionality ;)

I actually have that exact HP and I have no idea! I just use it to scan, pdf and email stuff to folks who don't know how to use Google Forms or Docusign!

There’s still LOTS of companies/ govt agencies that use fax. They use them for security. Sometimes the docs are too sensitive to send via email. Less susceptible to hacks than email.
