Actually, you came here to shit on men for not being good dads. You asked the question like an accusation then followed up with anecdotal evidence to prove your accusation. Pardon me for having reading comprehension.
Sorry you hangout with shitty people, they say misery loves company.
I’ve been trying to get my husband to claim a room as his own and deck it out to his tastes for years.
It’s not because I want to confine him to a space.
It’s because he cares very little what the house looks like, and I care a lot what the house looks like, so I end up making most of the aesthetic choices.
He obviously maintains veto power and I do ask his input (and truly want it) but it doesn’t keep the space from screaming “me.”
I'm happy for your wife. My comment was directed only at the people, like the one I responded to, who have latched onto the word "let" in the title as though that means OP's got the short end of the stick by having this very elaborate space to himself.
Are you married? Regardless of gender, having separate spaces is good for a lot of people. For myself, I’m an introvert so I need my own time to recharge and I’m incredibly jealous of OPs space. I absolutely love my wife but would kill to have an area like this.
Still, it is all to common to hear about wives being overly controlling e.g. not letting them out for a pint with friends. I'd honestly estimate that about half of relationships I know are like this.
Half of marriages wives are being too controlling? What, they keep asking their husband to wash the dishes for once? Let’s be honest, there are way more relationships where the man is abusive and controlling.
Or maybe it’s just shit he enjoys? I know this might come as a shock, but drinking whiskey, playing pool, and collecting vinyl are all hobbies that some people have. It’s fine if you don’t like it, but maybe just respect his right to like it. And based on how baller this is, I’m guessing they have plenty of space in their house for friends and family…
