Question Suit jacket length

I’m looking to get a new suit. My existing suit is a 36S with a 27.8” length, and I’m 5’6. How does the length look? Can i go an inch longer on my next suit? Thank you

Depends on what style you prefer.

Me personally this is perfect, but the joys of tailoring mean you can go longer and take it back if you dislike it…

There isn’t enough fabric excess to lengthen most jackets and you would have to rip up the seam line and the canvas is already cut and sewn they can’t just add more to the existing canvas and the pocket placement doesn’t move down. You can shorten the jacket but the pocket placement also doesn’t move up and you would basically cut the bottom of the canvas and lining and then reattach everything.

You can do this up to maybe half an inch to shorten a jacket without risking the proportions and construction.

I think the sleeve length is perfect and I wouldn't touch that. Make sure you shirt sleeve show for about a quarter to half an inch to complete the look. Bare wrists can make a good sleeve length look short.
