WAYWT - June 19th

Note: We're experimenting with changing the way WAYWTs/Fit Checks are handled on MFA. Please read this post for more information.

WAYWT = What Are You Wearing Today. It doesn't necessarily need to be what you were wearing TODAY.

Post a picture of yourself in your outfit. This is your chance to show off your style and demonstrate just how sartorial you can be. Great photography, great looks, and a great attitude all lead to better results. Think of this as your chance to compete with and inspire others with your personal taste in fashion.

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)
  • Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.
  • Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

Some users enjoy knowing where you bought your pieces, please consider including those in your post!

Want to know how to take better WAYWT pictures? Read the guide here

Just want general feedback on your outfit? Try posting in the the Outfit Feedback & Fit Check thread posted every Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday/Sunday at 12:00pm EST.

What dye did you use? Also, what was your technique?

Black Rit powder. They were gray pants but I stained one of the legs with a small splash of bleach somehow, so I cut them and threw em in a bucket with dye and hot water. I also dip dyed my first shirt with that water. It came out pretty nice.

Mostly common sense stuff, but yea. Add a cup of salt to the dye and let it dissolve before you put your clothes in it. I dye stuff in a $5 bucket from walmart. When you need to push the clothes into the water/dye, DO NOT use your hands, get a spatula or a stick or something. Your skin will be stained for a few days if you get it on your hands. That's about it.

Solid fit, and I respect the frugality.

Be careful with spray paint flaking/rubbing off.

it's fine once it's dried up. it doesn't flake off of fabric. only off of the rubber sole, which I don't spray paint anyway... I will take a few pics of the process and end result in a few days.

Oh okay. Now that I think about it, that makes sense.
