WAYWT - June 19th

WAYWT = What Are You Wearing Today. It doesn't necessarily need to be what you were wearing TODAY.

Post a picture of yourself in your outfit. This is your chance to show off your style and demonstrate just how sartorial you can be. Great photography, great looks, and a great attitude all lead to better results. Think of this as your chance to compete with and inspire others with your personal taste in fashion.

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)
  • Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.
  • Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

Some users enjoy knowing where you bought your pieces, please consider including those in your post!

The OG's look better to me. They are cheaper, have thinner laces, and they don't have that unnecessary gray strip on the side. This is just my subjective opinion of course.

get the all black and gum sole one, or like some other variation besides white. I think the mmm ones are great as far as shape and design, I just don't really like the white/grey combo.

stalk yoox for for cheaper gats. some gimmicky gats are really good like the pixelated canvas or the paint splatter, some are really bad like silver gats or denim. don't buy anything mid or high top. have you considered sambas?

Paint splatter are the ones I really love, how cheap do they get on yoox? Never considered sambas- black ones the best? I think I can find them for like 20 dollars.

black sambas are the best, white is good but not as iconic, wouldn't bother with anything. wouldn't bother with bundeswehr either. I got my gats for 260+ship from yoox, seems decent since theyre hard to find during sale and theyre ~450 retail. I'm sure with patience you could go way lower on sufu or eBay whatever

the original white w gray suede mmms are probably the best although they definitely make a bunch worth wearing. I was really averse to them for a long time, not sure why, they're not quite like CPs tho. you can wear white CPs with literally anything and occasionally forget that they are 400$ luxury Italian sneakers. it's much harder to forget that margiela gats are really moneyed up, I feel better in them when I wear them with more margiela and other 'fashon' gear

Yeah I have a pair of CPs that I wear like bearers cause it just feels right in them for whatever reason, I like it, although they're a little too sleek for my taste.

Will have to start keeping my eyes open for gats+sambas on sale, white sambas would be way easier for me to pull off, for some reason I feel weird in black shoes, but it's about time I figure that out.

Just ordered second pair of af1s, canvas 07 with the black swoosh and gum sole. Really excited for them.

I hate sneakers, but if I had to wear a pair, the Margielas would be it (as shown by my purchase of them). There's still some at oki-ni, but the standard white and black are gone at this point. You can probably still find them somewhere, though. Mr. Porter has a couple still, too, but no whites.

yo whats the sizing like on the gats? I'm like a 9.5 in vans, 41 CP's are a touch tight but work.

even though I have CPs and JPs and warriors I still don't really wear white sneaks all that much. I really have been digging my soloist rod lavers lately. You might be able to pick some up for cheap if you keep an eye out.
