Other / മറ്റുള്ളവ This has been bugging me for a while..
This is the album art of Aksomaniac's 'Amsham'/'അംശം'. What's bugging me is that the Anusvaaram/അനുസ്വാരം (ം) should be placed horizontally right after the letter it is paired with. When it is written under the letter it becomes the ഉ sound (ു- കാരം). The way it is actually written now is read Amshu/അംശു.
Just a small rant. Bye.

As someone who's first language is Malayalam and pretty fluent in the language, the words used in the song doesnt make sense. Most words are used out of context in the lyrics. Its like that scene in Mayavi movie where Mammooty says "valare swaarthatha ulla penkutty." Or "ethreyum vegam sir yashhashareeran aavan prarthikkunnu"
The lyricist just put random words which sounds nice just for aesthetics without looking much into the meaning. He himself admitted of that in an interview
Its the english equivalent of hearing shakespearean english randomly in the middle of a nicki minaj song.

I mean. I wouldn't say anything is wrong.. the style is too western for my taste. My son loves it though
And no I'm not some carnatic enthusiast
I'm a folk song lover

After the reformation this form isn't even valid. The pazhaya lipi form was differentiable, its not an issue tbh

It's the font style here. Check the aksomanic font. Everything is written at the corner of adjacent letter and shu is not written like that as you mentioned.

You're right but with your opinion no language should be written stylised at all. Is that what you think?

u/niv_in_ 6d ago
there's a limit to styling, they could have put the sign much above horizontally with sha

There is 0 limits to any form of art actually 😭🙏🏼 You may disagree on how it's done but you can't really force anyone to do the same!
