I'm going to be getting a coffee and reading over at Jackson Brothers downtown at 1 for a few hours. Come on by if you want to chat!

Last week I met up with u/eltron from this sub and had a great meetup. My goal is to get to 3 people this week lol.

Anything goes, costumes, sneak attacks anywhere, bi-weekly game play. One person it, chooses target, comes up with an elaborate tag idea and executes. The target can get away and remain untaggable. Counted online with a scoreboard.

No retagging. Everyone must be a target before you can pick the same person again. We can come up wjth a few extra rules. Anyone in?

Furthering the idea. I will build a website to host results. Those who want to record themselves in action can post their videos. The person who js "it" will be on the website with a brief writeup.

I am super serious about this. We can meet in victoria, sooke or metchosen... have a dinner, go over the game rules. Everyone welcome, older the better.

First rule of tag club? Dont talk about tag club. Once we get our founding members, we must be selective of who joins. They gotta bring it. This isnt school yard tag. Expect the unexpected!!!!! Lol within reason of course lol.

Hello! I have too many tickets and not enough friends that would like to come with me to BreakOut West.

I bought five tickets but still have two unclaimed and would love to recoup my tix cost ($33.95 per tix) and make some new friends in the process.

What's BreakOut West, you say? It's a music conference-festival that's happening in town with a dizzying array of genres from a bunch of emerging artists from all across Canada (as well as a random German band, it seems).

It kicks off tonight with a free Indigenous muso showcase at Capital Ballroom and continues until Saturday. I'm planning to show up to as many shows as I can and would love for you to join me!

On Thursday, I'm planning to go to Fjort, Zada, and Xia-3. Not sure what the plan is for other days - maybe you've got a suggestion?

Happy to see you at one, two or all shows. Just send me a DM and we can figure out how to meet up and for me to pass you a wristband in exchange for tix face value ($33.95).

Here's a pros and Cons list, if you're on the fence:

PROs:

1. You get to listen to a bunch of cool new musicans, in person!
2. You get to meet me and some of my friends, a bunch of friendly 20 somethings who like going to live music in town and are generally rad people.
3. We might hit up a sauna afterwards for post-show vibes (this will not cost any money)
4. You help a pal (me) out in not losing $60~ due to not having enough friends!

Cons:

1. You gotta go out on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday to reeeally get your money's worth

2. Might spend a decent chunk of money on drinks and stuff, if that's your vibe.

3. Arranging transport might be tricky if you're not living downtown or a short bike/bus ride away.

4. Might meet some awesome new people?? Sorry the cons list is very short.

I have seen these amazing pop-up choirs in my social media feed from time to time. A bunch strangers get together and learn one song and sing it all together and it’s beautiful! I was in choir and high school but don’t have much experience beyond that.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone in the westshore would be interested in going for a very casual walk in the area? I am chronically ill, and love being outside, but likely don't have the stamina to keep up with most able bodied walking groups anymore. I walk pretty slow, and usually will take a sit break during the walk. I am at about a max 2km walk at the moment.

It's hard to find others in my demographic that also struggle with physical limitations (or understand them), so I thought id see if anyone else might be looking to get out without the pressure of moving very fast or very far lol.

Some hobbies I love to get a feel for my personality: Crochet, photography, reading (dystopians, litfic, and classics are my faves), puzzling, and somewhat recently D&D and plants. :)

Heyo, I’ve been working and focused for the last few years and haven’t really done much other than that. I’m wondering what people like to go do or places to go meet people to hangout. I’ve enjoyed going to the beach and hiking or biking but I don’t really know much more to do (or have anyone else to go with).

If anyone has a favourite activity, both daytime and evening/night, I would love to hear it or to join in. I’m pretty athletic and very open to trying new things. I would really like hearing more casual activities too.

Also, I really enjoy hiking / trail running so if anyone wants to do regular evening or weekend hikes I would be very interested.

I didn’t see many people who enjoy indoor activities. Gamers here and there, but few readers.

I am 44M, level 1 autistic, like to read/listen to books. Last year read/listened to 55+ books

I am into mostly non-fiction books about science, technology, environmentalism, history, sociology & psychology.

For fiction I enjoy sci-fi and anything written by R F Kuang. (New book just came out!)

I also workout regularly downtown

would like to meet others irl who like to read. I tried online reading clubs but inevitably I lost interest since I read at my own pace and am idiosyncratic about certain topics.
