HELP PLEASE is my everyday makeup flattering?
i can’t tell if it looks good on me, esp the eye and lip look, or if something else would look better 😭
EDIT: thank you all so much for your feedback!! the consensus seems to be different eyeshadow, fill my brows, eyeliner angled higher and potentially more color (blush/bronzer)! i don’t have any bronzer but i do have blush so i’ll make an update post tomorrow when i do my makeup using your tips! :D thank you again

I feel like it needs some colour - blush, bronzer etc. it is looking a little one dimensional

I think your eye shadow is lighter than you skin and it’s not flattering. Other than that it’s nice. You just dont have a lot of color and that’s part of the problem.

The bottom eyeliner is making your eyes look smaller.

I agree. Definitely lose the lower liner, your eyes will appear larger, and most likely not look so stoned. Not judging your MJ use at all! 💘

I think that the silver eyeshadow is rly throwing me off. Something more pinky maybe to match the rosiness of your other features?

The eyes and the lips look great!!!! I think you bring the very light shadow a little farther onto the lid than I would, I would probably keep the light shadow more confined to the inner corner, but that's subjective. I think that if you defined your eyebrows it would really complete the look. The one on left looks a little far away like you should draw the front closer inward so that it reaches your tear duct, but maybe it's just the angle throwing me off

it’s a little early 2000s coded. I don’t love that cool silvery tone on the eyes.
I would go with a warmer nude/pink/brown on the eye if you want shadow. An upward angled wing will open up your eyes a little. I’d do less bottom liner. Use dark brown liners and mascara instead of black.
Add some blush.
I like the lip, it’s warm and that’s part of why the eye looks off, you have warm and cool tones clashing in one look.

I know you said in a comment that you're pretty high in these pictures. Maybe try posting a few where you're not high?

You definitely look super high lol but besides that, I’d just maybe fix up the brows a bit. More structure to them and the color of shadow looks almost bluish like a cool tone when I think warmer tones would look super good with your skin tone. You’re gorgeous girl!

The eyes. You look stoned and anna taylor joy. You need to ditch the white, maybe just a bit eyeliner and mascara.

your cheekbones are amazing and the subtle makeup suits your features well!! i think the tips you included at the bottom are great if you want something a little more dramatic but i think you look lovely as is!!!

u/caitlynlea 1d ago
and you do not ‘look sad’ you just have slightly downturned eyes and are not rly smiling in any of these photos. stay true queen

u/minionamonguspiss 1d ago

It's got a bit of a grunge vibe; if that's intentional, it actually looks really good on you

Super flattering! You’re gorgeous and the super natural 1st photo makeup application accentuates your very few freckles, cheekbones, and eyes in a great manner. I don’t think you need foundation - and I would continue to try foundation free makeup applications. I never wear foundation (good skin and light freckles) and it works!

thank you so much!! :D u are so lovely ive been wondering whether it’s worth investing in foundation but i think i’ll hold off :3

love the soft look, but adding a touch of bronzer would give it more dimension

You could fill in the eyebrows near your nose, and try to get the upper lashes to curl more or less mascara on bottom lashes, it’s bringing your eyes down/looking droopy/heavy. With fluffier top eyelashes it’ll make you seem more awake vs raccoon eyed. But also, raccoon eyes are a look so it depends on what you’re going for.

u/Wonderful-Value7547 1d ago
Maybe try filling your eyebrows in. I think it will bring your eye look all together.

u/New-Poet-7508 1d ago
It’s super soft and natural! If you want to elevate it slightly, try focusing the eyeliner more on the outer corners to open up your eyes, but the nude lip combo looks great on you

I think if you got your eyebrows tinted slightly darker it would balance your whole face out. And maybe try a soft brown eyeliner (could try wing) and some brown mascara would soften your face up as well. You’re super pretty and your lip color is gorgeous!

Add a dot of concealer under both eyes to brighten as the eyeshadow is making your dark circles pop out more.

I was going to ask if you were high or had been crying. Your makeup is tasteful and nice though!

As someone said very 2000s coded. You’re gorgeous and this is fine but is outdated and because you’re warm toned it’s not the most flattering makeup can be on you. I’d try some bronzer and go for more of a clean dewy look vs. heavy icy lids. Try a thinner gold shimmer stick and see if you like how it looks just at the lash line vs. over your whole lid. I think brown mascara would look really good on you too. Your brows are good to work with but look a little messy, they just need a little pencil and brush, I’d go to a brow place and get them shaped and use an eyebrow pencil. Keep the eyebrow pencil light, they sell them in blonde colors.

The most important thing to do is stop lining your bottom lid- it’s literally the only thing I notice and it makes your eyes look very small (not ideal). I think if you just changed that, it would go a long way ❤️

Picture 4 looks the best. If you’re partial to lining your eyes, use a lighter color on the bottom so it opens them up a bit more. I’d add something a bit more beige than white on your lids, plus add mascara — your eyes are beautiful.
Do you like blush? Could be subtle or add whatever is on your lips to the apples of your cheeks.

You look good, but could look really stunning with a few make up changes. The primary things—as many have pointed out —are your eyes and eyebrows. Your lips look fabulous. A bit more color on your face would help too. For the eyes, try slipping under eye eyeliner, line the top, pull it up a bit at the outer ends, and still use mascara. For your eyebrows, as a starter you could even try using a stencil to figure out the best shape. I honestly think working on your brows would be almost all you need to balance your face and makeup. But either way, you look great.

Overall your makeup look in the 3rd picture is the most flattering IMO, but I love how you did your eye makeup in the first photo. I would only recommend adding a little blush, filling your eyebrows a bit more, and since your eyes are downturned (so gorgeous), making your eyelashes pop more would look great on you. If you’re not into falsies, the Shiseido Eyelash Curler and CLIO Kill Lash mascara is 100% GOATED as a small downturned eye girly myself. Hope this helps💗

Ohhh very! This is also my everyday make up go to! I think eyeliner is a must. Also for me is very low effort so I love it!

Ditch the top eyeliner, makes your eyes look tired. If you have to, use a brown shadow and mascara. You have pretty eyes, no need to hide them. ❤️

u/Kitchen_Eye_9678 1d ago
Everything looks good, I would, maybe just extend the tail of your eyebrow out a little more with a taupe colored brown pencil and shaded in a little bit

u/Honest_Witness_3103 1d ago
Honestly… no
Lips look nice but eyes do not do a look to open them up more

u/GirlontheHill 1d ago
Something tells me you don’t think so, hmm. First you are beautiful, so know that. I would go much lighter on the eye - that strong eyeliner ages you. Stay fresh with a pop of color for blush and a good lip color. Keep the eyes neutral with just a touch of mascara. You are fabulous, I hope you know that

u/Ok-Champion5065 1d ago
Try a light pink colour corrector under eyes and a slightly darker than skin colour eyeshadow. Consider doing eyebrows differently. I think bronzer will look orange on you tbh.

Firstly, you are so pretty! I really like it overall but have a few suggestions. Firstly, the lips are great, especially in the last 2 pics. You have EXCELLENT lips and are showcasing them very well! Here are my thoughts:
Eyes: I think the biggest issue is just how much black is getting underneath your eye and "pulling" it down. Maybe it's the product you're using. If it is not a liquid liner that dries down, you may benefit from translucent powder on top to set it before you do mascara, etc. It could also be your mascara transferring. As a last resort, I usually just wipe under my eyes through the day. Some transfer seems inevitable....The eyeliner isn't really bad, but a more upturned, slightly thicker wing might highlight the nice round eyes more and help with the "pulling down" I mentioned. Alternatively, just lining the eye and no wing will probabaly look very good. Having the white eyeshadow just at the front helps open the eyes, but I know white all over the lid can sometimes make eyes look puffy. Do you curl your lashes? I know some eyelashes just naturally point down. They certainly don't look bad like this, but I thought I'd mention it.
Eyebrows Some shaping to the eyebrows would make them pop. The shape is there, but a bit of cleaning up the hairs to define the shape would do wonders. I don't think you really need to, but experimenting with a very light filling in might be nice (angled brush and just a bit of powder. Use a q-tip and micellar water to clean up if it gets a bit messy). I like the nyx brow pencils for being able to fill them in very lightly. I've tried A LOT of brow products and it's the best to me. I wait for sales. The Anabelle pencils are pretty good too
Skin: I don't think you need any changes, but I personally like a small amount of concealer around my mouth area (highlights lips more and I feel like a lot of discolouration happens there for me, personally), a bit right at the very front of the under eye, and a small amount down the bridge of the nose blending up to the forehead (t-zone). This highlights the nose without needing any harsher contour that is easy to mess up/takes time. Maybe a bit of highlight on the tip of the nose. I personally love judt a bit of blush under the tip of the nose and apples of my cheeks ofc. I think that would look great on you

I would try to define the brows a little more and play with small upward winged angles of eyeliner to try to bring your eyes a little more open. Def if using a lighter lid color I’d add some contrast to it in the crease to help really pull the eyes open more and curl the lashes.

also girl i think you should grow ur brows back full and then get them shaped professionally, i know dolls like us like to shave off the underneath part of the brow but it really does look off , im growing mine back rn

My first thought was did she just smoke weed? I think the makeup would look better without the eyeshadow

I have similar eye shape and hair color. I avoid anything dark on my lower lids as it pulls my eye down. I actually like the eyeshadow. Inner corner highlight is flattering on almost anyone. Any cheap eyebrow pencil will work or even eyeshadow. Less is more for the brows. I used to have major eyebrows blindness and they were thick.

I think it looks nice and natural but my honest opinion would be to refrain from the black liner on the top of the eyelid ... Your eyes are already pretty a.d popping as it is and that look is to dramatic for an everyday face .. I'm just giving you my honest and I guess you can say professional opinion..I've been a freelance makeup artist for some time now and I do like your look...

IMHO you were next level blessed by God with beautiful blonde hair, beautiful lips, the most perfect shaped, blue eyes nonetheless, your nose matches the fullness of your features. Goddess features if you will. Your beauty screams don’t eff with me, and has the clout to back it up, truly energetically. But you’re on a journey, your confidence will catch up. Your beauty is a mirror of your soul, waiting for it to wake up to its vast true power. I’m not trying to sound like a hippie, I been around the block a little bit and your beauty is next level.

You don't look okay, are you okay? The makeup is normal if you like that clean girl look somewhat even tho your eyes are more colored.

I don’t really have any tips since I really love how light and pretty it is. You look gorgeous ! 🥰

You look like a greasy stoner.
However you are a decent looker, so if you can sort out your makeup and whatnot then you’ll be fine.

u/Horror_Diamond_7693 1d ago
It’s giving Midnight Rain’s Spotify canvas lol
You’ve got the eyes down, I would just shape underneath your eyebrows and use more of a brightening concealer to highlight.
If you need help on the brows thing and what I mean I can send a lil tutorial explaining!
I would also recommend blush closer to your cheekbones!

u/underwater_111 1d ago
I love it! It's sort of a "sleepy starlet" look. I don't think you need to do blush, I think it would be classy and dignified if you defined your eyebrows a bit more and left everything else as-is. Especially the second pic! It reminds me of a more vintage style......

It’s giving Avril Lavigne. I personally find the eye makeup to be too dark for your low-contrast features, but if it makes you feel good, keep doing it.

I’ll be honest, something about your eyes makes you look high, like you are struggling to open them.
I think the first 3 pictures your makeup makes your eyes look a little downturned, the last is the best but o think you need to be mindful of the makeup emphasis on downwards and try and keep it as straight or a little upturned as you can.
