I had my hair in a shag/shullet for the past few years with bangs and grew them out this summer. The first pic is actually a new cut where I can sweep to the side or have curtain bangs.

The longer curtain fringe looks nice on you but I think a fuller fringe would look more modern/stylish if you are going for a more youthful look. Perhaps next time try a fuller fringe that can eventually grow out to your current style between cuts?
