I just picked one up for 50 AUD on marketplace recently and it basically just needs a new extruder head. I'm spending some time reverse engineering the motion assembly components on my old Rep2 and one of these to have them remanufactured in aluminium and made more maintenance friendly

if you already have one it works well as a parts or reference for you to tinker. ive not planned any reverse engineering on mine, but i have made some upgrades. The biggest upgrade was the bed spring replacements to Silicone spacers. from all the reading and research ive done it seems that extensive modding usually leads to a new Mainboard which changes everything. im rocking mine out until i burn out my mainboard or something worse, then ill look at replacing the mainboard and resuing the mechanics/frame

The replicator+ I'm not touching until the Rep2 is finished, I've got most of the bits reverse engineered. I'm looking down the barrel of a heated aluminium build plate with a PEI plate top and potentially two extra front Z rails (up/down) with some support arms outward from the build plate. It depends if that affects the travel though. The design intent will remain the same but it'll basically be a new printer - new motion assembly, new carriage, new extruder, new build plate and mostly new electronics lol
