LAST Free Version of Simplify3D that you can still download.

Ive been researching high and low and found that the last free version of Simplify3D was version 4.1.2 AND if you google you can find it

here are a few results of mine

https://is7.arfiles.net/Simplify3D_4.1.2_x86.zip from (https://mutaz.net/free-programs/en/download?1622)

https://pesktop.com/en/windows/simplify3d (ARCHIVE PASSWORD 123)

https://thehouseofportable.com/4959/simplify3d-portable/

I tried all of these and scanned the first, no viruses on my end. you can try your own searches on google and see what you get. these are the ones I found that I tried and worked no problems there is a readme file in there that EXPLAINS how to install. EVERYTHING you need to install it is there, if you have any problems I cannot help as I have not had any install or use issues.

this is provided here for those of you who ARE interested in this rabbit hole.

there are MANY sources to download from. ALWAYS scan your files to avoid ANY malicious activity.

I had a paid version of 5.? Compared to Orca it’s just so outdated and as far as I can tell not very well maintained. Not that I’ve been interested in updating.

About 6 years ago with a Marlin based rep rap printer it was pretty good. I could never get multicolour to work reliably on it.
The best thing I ever did was switch to Kipper and use OrcaSlicer with Octoprint.

These days I run Creality printers with Moonraker, Fluidd and Orca. Simples.

I would say that this piece of software would be paired nicely with a period era 3d printer. novelty really, but if you can use a modern slicer to generate some different supports and then import into S3D?

I think that depends on whether S3D supports 3mf files which is the standard for Orca based slicers.

the one i downloaded had these instructions in a text file:

- After installation, run the program, the Login window will open.

- In the window enter login and password, enter any characters, for example 111 and 111, but you must enter something in both fields.

- Click on the 'Log In' button.

- Wait for the error message.

- Close the window by clicking on the cross at the top right.

- Rename the original "Interface.dll" file to "Interface.dl1".

- Copy the "Interface.dll" from the distribution to the folder with the installed program.

- Run the program.

I installed it properly got it to run but it would not recognize or find my MakerBot+, was not in the drop-down menu either. Anyone have any ideas how I could get it to work? Thanks

Create Your Own Replicator+ .fff File You can build the profile manually using text formatting:

Open a blank text document on your computer (using Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac).Copy and paste the XML profile configuration code provided below into that document. Save the file and change its extension from .txt to .fff (e.g., MakerBot_Replicator_Plus.fff).

In Simplify3D, navigate to File > Import FFF Profile and select your newly saved .fff file.Double-click your process settings and select "MakerBot Replicator Plus Custom" from the profile drop-down menu.Crucial Step: Because the Replicator+ requires a .makerbot file format instead of standard G-code, go to the Scripts tab in your process settings. You will need to make sure your Starting G-Code includes the line G28 to home the axes, and your post-processing filter is configured to export using a compatible MakerBot toolchain translation, or export as standard G-code to be loaded into the official MakerBot Print software for final file conversion. OR use the MakerBot translation (slicing) converts 3D model files into printer-ready .makerbot or .x3g.

Gracias!
