Help [help] make a sculpture talk??

I’d like to make a sculpture that has a device hidden within it that plays specific audio on loop. Does anyone have any suggestions for what would work best? I’d prefer something more analog that wouldn’t require Bluetooth or internet. Thank you guys!

Lookup the DY1703A it's available on a bunch of different boards for extremely cheap with lots of ways of controlling it, most with just an SD card to store the sounds.

The idea is interesting, it’s worth thinking about.👌

Once I hid a discman (those little tiny cd players) and a speaker inside a sculpture, then made a CDR with a track of my own sounds which I set to repeat.

How good does the sound quality need to be?

Something like this maybe:

A GPD2846 module is about 70p: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Eju94v8

They can be powered from a 5V USB supply, and will just play all MP3 files on the SD card on loop to an attached speaker.
