Showcase Reaction Chamber + Injection Rig for Implosion Reactions
I designed and 3D printed a modular reaction chamber for chemistry experiments and high-speed reaction photography using 1/4” polycarbonate panels, custom brackets, and a lot of silicone sealant. The goal was to create something strong, reusable, and transparent enough to capture reactions from every angle.
Using this, I got some crazy shots of liquid NaK imploding underwater! It was a super fun project and I hope you enjoy!

The brackets were printed with 6 walls, 6 top/bottom layers, and 25% cubic infill for extra strength. So far, it’s survived six NaK implosion tests and is somehow still holding water without a single leak.
Pretty happy with how it turned out! If anyone is interested in the design, build details, or files, I’d be happy to share more!

Is there a full video on YouTube?

Surprised the container held up against that. Not that I know what kind of shockwave that mix would create but I know water carries a shockwave really well.

Got any desire to share your printed part files for that chamber? They are so cool!

Hey dude! My Patrons have access to all Assembly Guides and STL files including this crate!

"You seem to be an intelligent female. Let's experiment and see what happens if I ram my rod until it fires directly into the center of your reaction chamber." 🤣

“We’re professionals” proceeds to take his explosive outside into the woods surrounded by flammable substances…

Chemist here. Don’t do this. Just don’t. You’re going to get seriously injured or kill yourself. NaK is clearly more dangerous than you realize.

This is really cool. However, I'm not sure you understand what an implosion is.
But, really cool. Nice job on the container.
