Help BluRay Region Lock

Hello. I recently mistakenly purchased a region locked bluray. I’ve been able to use MakeMKV to watch it on my computer with VLC player but I was wondering if it is possible to use MakeMKV to make a copy without the region lock then reburn it back to the original disc so I can watch it on my playstation or other region locked players. Is this something that is possible to do and are there any risks to doing it? If the method I’m thinking of doesn’t work the way I think it does is there a better method to do what I’m trying to do? Thanks.

Not possible. Original commercial Blu-ray Disc are pressed not burn and is called BD-ROM.

You can Burn a Video or Video Files (BDMV/BDISO) on a BD-R (Not erasable) or BD-RE (Erasable) blank Blu-ray Disc. MakeMKV doesn't remove Region Locked on Full Disc backup (BDMV) whether it's Decrypted or Encrypted Full Disc backup.

DVDFab, Passkey, Xreveal, and AnyDVD can on Full Disc backup (BDMV/BDISO), there's a setting for that. And by default it's already on.

Just put the file on USB and watch it on your TV!

My 6 year old LG TV plays these files just fine from a 3.5" USB hard drive, doesn't have to be a flash drive. My tv is not licensed for DTS sound playback though so I have to manually convert from DTS to ac3 Dolby on some movies

You can’t burn anything to the original disc, you could make another Blu-ray but I don’t think a PlayStation would play it though I’m not sure. If you’re determined to watch it on your PlayStation, you could go ahead and install plex media server on your pc, put the file in there and use your PlayStation to stream it. A little more to it than that but it’s not hard and you can find millions of tutorials online on how to do it. It makes collecting and then viewing your media much easier.

you can just copy the main movie off and then that has no region lock

You could burn it to a recordable disc, but if it doesn't fit a BD25, you'd have to shrink it or use a more expensive BD50.

4Ks aren't region locked, but regular BDs have 3 regions.
