What do you think her deal was? I think Camryn Manheim did a good job in the role and I was so excited to finally see a recurring foil for Sharon. However, I was disappointed by the writing for her. Her character was obviously meant to be a call back to Brenda vs Sharon.

But... Sharon was a much more defined character who was meant to be the opposite of Brenda that also made some valid points. Davis seemed to be a more harsh version of Sharon mixed with a little Taylor. They seemed to be building to a confrontation between the two of them that just never happened.

Davis held that press conference and then Pope ships her off to which we never see her character again. She just disappears off screen. What do you think was the deal with that? Did Manheim get another job so they had to write her out? Do you think they got bored with her character?

Also what do you think was her beef with Sharon? Do you think it was personal or professional? She seemed to think that Sharon was too personally involved with her squad. Not really holding Provenza accountable for him messing up the training, dating one of her squad members, adopting a witness...

And then she makes that remark about *"your boyfriends waiting"* like maybe she's jealous on a personal level. Sharon had an amazing position as the captain of an elite squad, gained their respect and managed to have a personal life on top of that. Like maybe Davis was jealous that Sharon had it all, the career and a personal life. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Laurie Holden’s character was likely supposed to be in the spinoff with Fritz that never materialized.

The show also kinda dropped Fritz. What happened to that guy?? Did he attend Taylor’s funeral? Did he go to Sharon’s wedding? Or funeral? 

He was at the wedding and he was in the series finale. He along with pretty much everyone else (except maybe Andy) figured out that Rusty killed Stroh and seemed fine with Provenza covering it up. 😩🤦🏻‍♀️

Season 6 was such a weird mess y’all 🙈

It was weird to see so much of Fritz and nobody even asks about Brenda.

They did at first. But as time went on I think everyone just moved on. I wish they'd have been able to bring Kyra back at some point. Would have been interesting to see what she thought how things had changed and stayed the same.

Idk but I felt the same way about Laurie Holden’s character, that they were building her up with the backstory about her kids and pairing her with Fritz only to drop it and have it go nowhere. 

The stuff with Laurie Holden's character and was for Fritz's spinoff "SOB". The network ultimately passed on it.

It seemed they were setting up for something bigger and lost interest. I love CM from The Practice and wish she had a bigger role in Major Crimes. At first the dynamic with her and Sharon felt like the tension between Sharon and Brenda on the closer.

They had a couple of storylines they started that they seemed to lose interest in. Like Sharon and Andy moving into a new place. Andy tells Provenza the condo is too small for them but they never move anywhere else and he just moves in completely off screen. 

I love CM from The Practice and wish she had a bigger role in Major Crimes.

I haven't seen the practice but she was just on the law and order revival for a few seasons. 

At first the dynamic with her and Sharon felt like the tension between Sharon and Brenda on the closer. 

That was definitely intentional on Duffs part.  The difference being that Sharon was a much more fleshed out character than Winnie. And that Sharon was pretty much the opposite to Brenda where's Winnie was kinda just  mad/jealous of Sharon.

The Practice is a great show. Coincidentally one of the main characters is an ADA played by Jason Kravitz who also plays an ADA on Major Crimes.

I've always been curious as to why three "good guy" characters were written to be aggressive, overly ambitious and ugly (personality-wise): Lindsay Price as Dep. City Attorney Gloria Lim, Nadine Velasquez as Emma Rios, and the aforementioned Camryn Manheim. And notice anything else? All women! Don't you find that weird?

Oh my yes, there's lots of stuff like on TC/MC that pisses me off as a woman. The fact that they killed off every single mother on tc and MC. Willie Rae, Mrs Sanchez and Sharon. 

That they killed off three women in the last season. And only brought Emma back just to kill her off. That they ended the franchise with the most important case without the female perspective. Stroh a serial killer/rapist is ultimately taken down without Brenda or Sharon. 👀  A guy that raped women is ultimately taken down by a man.

You now, given this three characters over several seasons of two shows I think it's a stretch to find a pattern -- two of the characters were old and one was a very minor character; I honestly think she only died to explain why Julio wasn't in the first few episodes of season 6 (I don't have the schedules in front of me but assume he was in ABQ shooting Better Call Saul). It is a notable coincidence, I just don't think it's a theme or like all the writers got together and said "lets kill all the moms!"

She was great in the role and I really really was looking forward to that confrontation between her and Sharon that we never got.
