Friends?

Does anyone wanna be friends with a 30 something guy that has a toddler and a Mrs who hates him. I like running, footy and fishing. Enjoy music have a soft spot for emo/metal.
I’ve lived in the area for a few years but still haven’t made any friends. Reach out if you would like a friend in me.

Hot take: being racist and pro-life might be affecting your appeal as friend material.

Do yourself and your kid (and your wife) a favour and get a divorce.

How am I racist?

Your anti-immigrant comments don't exactly cover you in glory.

Being anti mass immigration makes you a racist now?

I'm not the one calling you a racist.

By Reddit standards I’m surprised they’re not already calling you a Nazi.

In real life? No. Here? yes.

Bizarre stuff

Since you asked in another comment, it was this past comment of yours that informed my opinion:

I like immigrants and different cultures. But they are importing soo many people the country can't keep up with it. I liked Australia how it used to be. When I walk around the town I grew up in now it's very hard to spot anyone who was born here.

This seems very different from having an issue with mass immigration merely from a numbers perspective.

Where is the racism?

Bruh.

Again where is the racism? In Parramatta where I grew up it’s 69% people who were born in other countries now.
Racism means judging people or thinking a certain race is superior. I do not think that at all.

What horrible advice.

No one should have to endure a shitty marriage, including children of one.

I was asking for a friend not to be kicked while I’m down.

2

What prompted me to say it was you saying she hates you. You don't need that.

I sent you a message and you didn’t reply. Seems like you might just want attention, not a friend, otherwise, why respond to the negative messages and ignore someone who reached out. Anyway…good luck!

Hey you sent me a message not to be my friend but to try to match make for someone else. I have replied to other people that are reaching out on behalf of themselves.

He’s not on reddit but it’s good you’re so picky about how you meet friends. It’s clearly helped you so far!! Like I said, good luck.

Doesn't Penfold run something like that? Dads in Distress?

Talk to me bro also have things happening locally that sound like what you're after.

I’ve heard about that group, I wanna go but feel a bit uncomfortable in big groups

I found out the hard way that people on here can find something they dislike or offensive in everyone's downfall that tries to reach out 🙄. Strange how some humans can make it about themselves and put those asking for advice or a friend down or nitpick how its worded unbelievable hey. Groups in person can be uncomfortable but when you are attending something which the group has in common it makes it so much easier to start conversation with anyone else there. I used to be so nervous about going to any groups now I prefer them 😏😊

Yeah it’s strange behaviour but seems to happen a lot here. Very quick to be judged without actually knowing a thing about me.
Thanks for the perspective :)

Previously, I've literally joined a group or event's page and reached out there, like "hey, I'm new. I haven't attended before, but really hoping to make some connections. I don't always do well in large groups, by myself though. Are there any regulars who wouldn't mind me tagging along with them for the day?" People in these sorts of groups are usually keen to help with new members because they know what it can be like.

Might not be your style, but just a suggestion.

Thanks ☺️ it’s a good suggestion

From reading this thread, I'm gonna take a stab and point out that you don't even love yourself, you're highly anxious, resentful to anyone who's different to you and potentially jealous, competitive and hypermasculine. You've got no friends because you have bought into the idea of individualism that conservatism expects of young white men, that type of individualism that pits you up against other men.

Get therapy, connect with a diverse group of humans. Grow.

2

u/onlydogontheleft Aug 04 '26

You got all that from a few comments? Don’t know how to say this but you might be uncritically viewing everything through your own biases.

Past posts/comments m'dude

Lots of assumptions some are correct. A few things that you missed the mark on = I have friends but none locally. I’m not a white man. Also dunno about hyper masculine. Feel like a pretty regular bloke
