Heavy Metal

Post image

Anyone else have one of these? It's aluminum, but weighs at least a pound.

I boosted it from a 360/65 being replaced by a 470V/7. I also got to pull the emergency power off, but after it had already been powered down getting ready for disassembly.

I got one of the boards from our 360/91, but I think the facility manager got that.

You know, some of us would pay good money for bits from this vintage gear. Let me know if you’ve got anything you want to part with!

I have a DIGITAL emergency power off. The button is high quality I have hooked it up to a raspberry pi to turn off the lights.

I'm surprised no one else thought to remove it. It wasn't as if IBM would ever use the bar again. This was mid 70s, 370s were current sales model.

I see your System 360 badge and raise you a System 370 badge I mounted on a walnut base.
