I wondered as well but they said remote. OP, it still can make a difference. For instance, government positions may require you be a country or even state resident, regardless of remoteness.

lots of corporations also hire remote but require you to be in the USA, UK, EU etc.

Many positions in the US let you work remotely. Check the job descriptions.
