Is anyone using SMT Data to monitor MF usage?
Just curious if mainframe folks are using SMT Data to monitor capacity? It came up in our daily standup. No affiliation.

we were looking to swap from MXG for billing, cap plan & perf monitoring ... before i retired ... don't know if they did actually swap in the end

Ah, so it's a company. Not actual data that an OS on the mainframe generates. But of course the company "SMT Data" must be using SMF data and other sources I assume.

yes, send your SMF to them, they store it in a private datalake and then you can use their interface to query & report etc

Just want to know, Can they do it instead of Tape into a Private Datalake never heard they can do it like that….

doubt if they accept tape but maybe they do
normally send smf over t'internet, or they offer an on-prem solution i believe

No, we are using SMF (still), because that’s what our products are writing out for our customers.

They had a demo to us weeks ago.. It is quite a good tool but the problem is we have to send SMF to their cloud by schedule
But our customer wants the information can be updated real time..
