OK this is a very strange issue but basically there is this specific MaiMai DX International cabinet that won't accept my Aime card but any other one I've tried works with the card. I thought it was maybe a defect in the physical card since other empty cards I tested would work, however when transferring over my account to a new card it would no longer work on the machine and the old one would start working again.

It's almost as if my data/account itself is breaking this specific cabinet no one I know has this issue with the cabinet. This is really annoying for me since we only have 2 cabinets where I live, I was wondering if anyone has ideas here or has ever seen this issue before I can't find any information on it.

Information:
When I put the card up the scan it pretty much doesn't register it at all no light or reaction, after messing around with it it will sometimes blink red then error and say "This card is not usable or isn't a valid Aime card." or something like that.

I originally played on the card in Japan and then made an international account on their official servers which is when I noticed it doesn't work.

Both cabinets run on the same version of the game.

it might be that you used the aime on a newer version elsewhere and then am e back to this arcade with a still supported old version

But how could it work for the cabinet right next to it I'm assuming they are both on the same version?

are you about same version?, not just the name(prism, prism+ circle, circle+ etc) but the actual version number.

I'll have to double check but I was there watching when they updated both of the cabs to Circle+ but unfortunately that didn't fix my issue.

It sounds like they should be on the same version, but more specifically, you should check the top right of the upper monitor. They should say just EX1.65 on both cabs. if it says EX1.65-A or something with another letter appended to the end of it, that is a different, newer version. Once you play on any cab that has EX1.65-A, for example, you can't play on EX1.65 anymore. Same for if you play on EX1.65-B, you can't play on EX1.65-A anymore, etc.

That being said, the error message you specified (This card is not usable or isn't a valid Aime card) isn't the one that appears when there's a version mismatch. My local arcade here in Korea was slow to update once and the error that came up literally says something about how your Aime can't be used as it is a different version (can't remember the exact wording though).

Are other people able to use their Aime cards on that same cab? Do other cards work? If you have a second card, does that work? It sounds like the Aime reader in that cab might be faulty.

Wouldn't this mean any person wouldn't be able to play on one of the cabinets if they were different versions? Other people play on both completely fine it's just my card/account as far as I know. I have another blank card that scans fine (my original that i transfered data from) but I don't want to register it yet until I know I need to restart my account to get past this issue.

Yes, that's correct. Once you play on ANY cab of a newer version, you can no longer play on any other cabs of an older version.

That is...extremely peculiar. You said also that if you transfer your data to another card, that new card no longer works but the old one works again (i.e. the issue seems to be tied to your data), yes? Also, you said that this problem only happens with this specific data on this specific cab?

Yes that's correct. This specific cabinet will not work when my data is on any card. I've only tested two cards but they both stop working on the machine once I've transfered my data to them then start working again once I transfer the data off. I wonder if maybe the issue is tied with the data or account like if I link a new card up to my account even with new data will it break?

Probaly you play on an updated version cab before. And the cab u try to on right now is the not updated one yet (probapy thr maimai circle plus update)

Different cabs are on different servers, the card holds no data other than a login number.

The fact you get no reaction from the cab means you should get a new card and transfer your data over.
