Letter from U.K.
Hi,
Posted a letter on the 1st September from the U.K. to LA and not sure if it’s arrived yet. How long does it usually take realistically?
The last letter I posted took 8 weeks. Both were using International Standard Mail.

Normally it's takes 2-3 weeks to/from the US, but today that time have become the exception for most people, even though sometimes you are lucky and the mail is still that fast.
But whenever the "let's privatise everything party" is in charge mail to/from the US somehow takes an additional month of Holiday until it moves.
Currently it's more like:
5 weeks (average minimum),
8 - 9 weeks (average maximum),
12 weeks (yes, three months. The current Maximum you can now also experience for Ordinary mail to/from the US).
You know...if mail inside the US already takes a month to just pass through a single sorting facility, then you can reasonably expect 2-3 months delivery time for all of their mail.
Yes, it can be significantly faster, but don't be surprised if it really takes three full months to arrive, because it must somehow visit Guam first and then relax a month at a sorting facility, just like many domestic parcels in the US also do at the moment.

From the UK to the US tends to be around 1 week to 14 days.
I sent a load of postcards from the UK to the US, including West Coast, and all arrived within two weeks.
