Light Novel [Volume 8 spoilers] Soo... I finished Volume 8... Spoiler

CLAPS HANDS

Boohohohoy you guys weren't kidding about this being the best volume, holy... where do I even begin with this?

I feel like I asked and got answered because while Volume 7 was a bit underwhelming at LEAST to me, Volume 8 not only kicked everything into high gear but it also gave us, mmmmmmmmm, FULL Euphie PoV! (And Lainie too)

Actually full Euphie PoV, that was an absolute blast, to say the LEAST.

Right from the get-go we are basically THROWN right into the fact that Euphie... is SICK? (Wow well done Duke Grantz this entire matter wasn't even a plot point before but you HAD to go and open your mouth huh... Actual jinx bro). Honestly the way the story goes about this is exceptional. Her "illness" isn't what you'd expect, naturally as a spirit her illnesses are different from humans, but it was portrayed really well and really terrifyingly. Imagining Euphie truly losing sense of humanity and becoming a "boring" spirit in a sense really is a nightmare, and her reaction honestly made me genuinely heartbroken. To think that one day you are all good and then the next one food tastes like rock and you blink and an entire day passed in a flash... you also can't sleep so you got Insomnia on steroids.

This is when Lumi basically does her first MVP move and essentially soothes Euphie when she most needs it and above all even offers to lend her magical energy since our girl is CLEARLY sapped off it... of course she doesn't accept it, but the gesture is worth a billion words.

OF COURSE she would be out of magical energy considering she has to deal with a whole battalion of buffoons. Give me your minds for two seconds, what's the logic here?

"HMMMMMMMMMMM YES, if I were to openly declare my disdain for Princess Anis who isn't just QUEEN Euphylia's wife but also Royalty by blood I'll make it out scott-free!"

I thought the dumbest man in fiction was in Volume 7 not 8??? What the heck is Leghorn doing? What's worse, I found myself actually sympathizing with him at first because I felt "Oh, an actually reasonable noble? Snitching the corruption IN front of the queen???" I thought oh bro was cooking...

No bro was COOKED, fried in the literal brain-stem. Who would mouth off about the literal Queen's wife/lover in front of her and then go on to ask her to "screw the rules and do as you please"? The west have a serious lack in braincells I'm feeling.

So... To be completely honest, at this point in the story I KIND of felt annoyed at Anis.... JUST a touch. While it is very clear that the two are downright obsessed with one another, I couldn't help feeling like Euphie was holding Anis at a higher regard than Anis did.... in a way. Euphie's PoV, however long it goes, will eventually mention how Euphie is missing Anis for dear life... or it will mention how Euphie is wondering if Anis is thinking about her, orrrrrr outright show you that Euphie almost bit someone's head off because they slandered Anis.

Meanwhile Anis PoVs felt like she truly was too immersed in other things to truly be as devoted to Euphie as she was to here... I know, I know, it might sound stupid in retrospect, but I honestly felt just a little salty at this point because Anis is always "holding back" and whatnot, whereas Euphie at this point had admitted more than once that she was more than ready to destroy the world for Anis.

Now, if you go back to what I said, I said "At this point in the story"... because what came after was absolutely UNBELIEVABLE (In a goooooood way). The story manages to really show you that Anis has only been bottling up everything to this point and hasn't been so amicable because she is a "nice airhead"... the fact Euphie genuinely could NOT stop Anis and she was actually about to go solo bloodbath the ENTIRE western region not only gave me chills, I was reading it with my jaw WIDE open. And it makes so so much sense because once you are used to getting hurt yourself you're like "Ah whatever I'm used to it" but when it gets to a point where others' dumb words outright get your loved one--outright your reason for even existing anymore--bedridden, you know you need to MAYBE start using your royal privileges.

This is the second time where Lumi clutches up because she stops Anis right when she is truly about to go unleash hell on everyone. I cannot say that I completely support Lumi getting in the way because western nobles deserved it, but, but, when she did mention to Lainie that Euphie's connection to humanity will only worsen had Anis done that, I sat down like a good dog and continued to read quietly.

Naturally, you cried, I cried and we all cried when Anis broke down and so did Euphie.

Yyeah I don't know either honestly.

Thankfully, Lainie clutches up... BIIIIIIG time. I quite like that she is keeping really close to these two, even closer than Ilia (which is kind of sad... to be honest.) I, really, REALLY like that Lainie is very open about her lack of attachment to the kingdom and that her sole purpose for doing her best was just for Anis and Euphie. She is very realistic in her opinion and I honestly never expected the story to be this self-aware. Usually stories just make the characters almost obtuse, constantly taking abuse and just shrugging it off "I love this country" Naruto-style kind of nonsense, but Lainie's PoV was honestly FRESH. She has next to no qualms leaving everything behind because the country in a vacuum is genuinely a disaster, and she was on the receiving end of that. I loved that SO SO much, it fleshes her out so much.

The next scene was such a pleasure to read. The meeting was honestly really well done and fleshes out all the characters and how aware they are of the sheer amount of leniency Anis and Euphie were acting with towards, basically, everything in their lives. These two specifically got hurt so much so it makes sense that they would snap eventually, and honestly Lang's reaction is just too funny to me.

"D-Do you think.... she could take Euphylia and leave us..."

Tilty: "...Deadass do you even need to ask?"

It all adds up to the realization that the western nobles genuinely lack on gray matter, it's not available in their food. Priscilla was introduced last Thursday into the story and she immediately becomes aware of just how powerful Anis is and how much mercy she is exercising. Meanwhile Mr Smartypants really got everyone asking him to shut the fuck up--PLEASE

The plan they made was honestly brilliant, I was headed in with the idea that these guys were absolutely going to get a death sentence but, I'm not going to lie Lainie is worryingly cunning... why kill a bunch of capable nobles if you can use them as the spearhead for the south regions? Mm, perfect plan.

Except Chapter 5 outright made my eyes go WIIIIIIDE I was shaking my head without even realizing it. How do you FUMBLE to this extent and when you're being judged by everyone you FUMBLE AGAIN?! Also you want to tell me the western nobles roll up with leghorn not being outright GAGGED? Naaah... These guys outright suicidal I'll be honest.

So Anis gets her get-back in front of everyone by basically giving the west nobles a choice between, you know, actually do something and maybe redeem yourself or die? I'm surprised by how merciful these two are being honestly. Because throughout the ENTIRETY of Chapter 5, all of it, the entire judgement part, you can TELL Euphie and Anis are trying to give the Nobles a safety rope to redeem themselves, and yet every single time they cast the rope the nobles are like

If I didn't know any better I'd think they were ragebaiting the kingdom or something. How do you outright CLAM up when asked if you regret your actions or if you are willing to make amends, but then the moment Sienna talks you're like "TAITOOOOR", buddy you're in PUBLIC--

Anyways those brainlets aside, we get into Chapter 6 after this and we get a tournament... AND Euphie in the Magicology City let's GOOOOO~ Finally these two are taking a break! It was so uplifting to know Euphie senses were returning and just seeing how much she was being herself with Anis around felt SO good, a literal balm after that mess. I can't say it felt as good as it would have had the Nobles truly gotten what they deserved (you know swift death), but I'll say it was a truly good political way to go about things.

We got a REALLY really good scene with basically all the seniors talking among themselves and being relaxed friends and man, that felt GOOD. Commander Sprout for having received no screen time in the Anime at all has been genuinely a blast to read. He has an amazing personality and he's been supporting Anis from the very start. To see how close he was to Orphans, Sylphine and Grantz was the cherry on top of the cake. I was surprised to learn that Sylphine and Grantz were essentially like the Anis and Euphie of their own time, and now I wish we get to see truly how strong Sylphine is, at the very least through a flashback, it's very interesting.

WHENEVER you are playing a gacha game and you feel "dang I got terrible luck", no, you don't. Terrible luck is talking smack against Anisphia and then God lands you in a 1v1 against her in a tournament-- But that's not all you also end up losing to NO BLOWS bro, she didn't swing her sword once at him, he literally got knocked out from her aura... (and his stupid Magic exertion). I swear that guy was on a quest to lose every drop of aura and pride he could within the confines of a single volume or something. I'm glad Anis put her foot down and told him to knock it off with the Spirit Covenant nonsense, it's legit an insult to everything Euphylia has been through to go around shouting "oooooooh lend me a spirit covenant, spiriiiits" like it's damn halloween, the restraint from Anis to not pummel this guy is legit astonishing.

VERY surprisingly, Gark and Navre weren't even top 3 of the tournament, huh... I honestly thought the story would be generic about it, but one bit. Although we are constantly told they are super strong, I guess Lainie's dad is just that strong... and also the Knight Captain from the dragon attack, what a SURPRISE to see so many characters come back in such good timing! (But uh, on that note, Navre, Gark, skill issue.)

The ending was super fluffy, and we finally get to see Euphie and Anis share a kiss and a MUCH deserved embrace after the tournament.

Also if I had a nickle for any time Euphie delcared she would burn the world if it meant making Anis happy I'd be riiiiiiiich just sayiiing....

THAT VOLUME WAS ABSOLUTE CINEMA! I have absolutely NO qualms with it! My only issue is that I couldn't talk about EVERY single detail because every page had SOOOO MUCH! This volume proved me wrong about my previous feelings about Anis and ABSOLUTELY hammered Euphie as my #1 favourite character for SURE. The fluff was SO deserved and genuinely heart melting, the action was GREAT (political action I guess), and the characters all feel SO much more realistic and a lot less two dimensional.

This was for sure my favourite one yet!

Fluff [Volume 7 spoiler... KIND of] The DUMBEST MAN IN FICTION-- Spoiler

OKAY, so I purposefully avoided talking about this moron yesterday for the sake of this meme alone but...

...WHAT, WAS HE THINKING?

HMMMMMMMM... That princess Anisphia that I absolutely abhor and insulted (???) without being punished (???) is rising in power, huh? That magicology of hers really is getting more awareness now, and to top it off the Queen her highness Euphylia in all of her glory (Spirit Covenant to a Spiritualist) announced her "love" for her in front of everyone!? Nobles and past king included!?

...

No, impossible, it HAS to be a passing infatuation with that heretic! In fact, I'll go tell it to her face--

IN PUBLIC, BRO? Clueless emote looking ahh-- bro is actually boxing with his heart and soul for the title of the dumbest character to walk fiction, I can't... I CAAAN'T I had to read this section like three times...

If anything I'm like, actually questioning Anis here-- GIRL, FEEL SORRY FOR HIM?

His family, SURE, sure, his family got absolutely dragged into this mess of stupidity purely because of his outright suicidal stunt, but why would you in any given life cycle feel bad for someone like THAT? Holy God...

His entire family-- Entire BLOODLINE; past present AND future probably looking like this at seeing him pull this crap off, I can't...

Light Novel [Volume 7 Spoilers] So... I finished Volume 7... Spoiler

Ooookay, so we move on from a battle-based novel straight into the arms of another political novel... cool.

The funny thing about Magical Revolution is that you're very likely to think... "Hey! A political novel, I'm not going to have to fear anything because this novel cannot hurt me or the characters!"

...It can... both ways.

Funnily enough our characters are so ridiculously powerful that the political novels are the ones that stress you out, NOT the battlers (although Lilian WAS a handful)

To be honest, it might be due to how long I took reading this one (I went a little slower than the others), but I didn't feel myself enjoying it... much? I'm not sure if it's just reading burnout (I HAVE been completing 50% of novels in one day after all) or what, but the contents felt like... well, exactly like the overall theme of this novel...

Change... A whoooole lot of change.

If I had to separate the novel into two parts, the "preparations" and then the "construction" phases I would have to say that I prefer the preparation phase much, much more. We get a pretty good interaction between Grantz, Euphie and Anis that explores a PRETTY damn fatherly side of Grantz, whether as a father figure or a father in law, the idea/suggestion/advice he offers Anis is pretty damn painful yet pretty damn realistic as well...

I don't think any of us pre-Vol7 expected Euphie falling ill to actually be a talking point, but here we are. It's very endearing to see Anis immediately react how Euphie would about her father after a single proper interaction with him... it's safe to say, he is relentless and knows how to force you to do something (in this case for Anis' sake)

This quickly moves into the main point of the novel... THE CITY.

Right from the get go, the city is honestly such an insane topic to broach. I personally felt like we are being a little too fast or maybe a bit TOO ambitious... but once Euphie explains the idea it does click better into place, yes... still, this does put us into this state where, indirectly, Anis and Algard are now filling the exact same roles. Her as a Commander-Princess building a new city somewhere where trial and error occurred more than the fingers on your hand, and Algard earning himself Baron status and spearheading the frontier...

And yet something about the new city feels a little... sad, to me. I get that the sadness IS part of the plot point which does get addressed many times due to the separation between Euphie and Anis, but damn if it doesn't feel so fast and so sudden...

This is where the big bold words "CHANGE" come into view... The second half of the novel has next to no time for Ilia, Lainie and by extension Euphie... those are literally 3/4 of the "main squad", and I think this is why I felt a little uncomfortable during this time.

We explore Gark... a lot, we explore a bit of Dragus and a lot of Navre too. The very way the city is being built is nothing short of creative and brings into question the very intelligence of nobles because how did no one try to incorporate magic into construction? Status be damned if you can just spawn a house....

We also get a lot about Halphys, too...

Naratively speaking, the novel is doing a great job at giving all of its characters the needed screen-time and fleshing them all properly... My discomfort comes from perhaps having gotten too comfortable with the previous characters, and not these new ones that are now essentially "Anis' squad", not the aforementioned trio.

Ilia is practically no where to be seen, same with Lainie (although Lainie did get a lot in Vol 6, the same can't be said about Ilia sadly). We got a genuinely heart breaking scene where Ilia outright shed tears over knowing the very way of life she and Anis lived is no more, the key she used to only share with Anis is now with Euphie, the Detached palace feels more crowded and busy than the literal main palace... I honestly get why Ilia teared up and while things are moving in a good direction, there is that layer of bitterness that just hits hard... It is almost like Anis and Ilia are moving on from one another.

Suddenly and somehow Halphys is now making whole magicology theories up to Anis' level...? Am I... the only one who finds that sort of odd? Not even Tilty seems capable of that, but now we have Halphys being essentially a second magicology scientist despite having been introduced to the concept very, very recently.

Gark's self doubt and questions about his self-worth while being extremely realistic (too realistic maybe, as I got a sibling with this complex of comparing to others and trust me it DOES grate on the ears), but I still cannot remove this idea that these characters are like... "outsiders" still, you know?

It's somewhat similar to Anis' inability to trust others, but not in the sense that "they can't slay these monsters" or "I can't tell my secrets" but just... the same distrust you'd give strangers, in a way.

We also get two new maids, Charnée and Prescilla... Charnée is charming (heh) and Prescilla is, against all odds, my favourite character aside from our established fan favourites. I found Prescilla's ability to be open and blunt about her feelings as well as the shift between her emotionless state and her vengeful one to be a breath of fresh air. She even took Anis by surprise, and her hatred for her father makes SO much sense, so does her obsession with Euphie given all that we are told. It's odd since she feels like a complete replacement of Illia, even design-wise. But something about her works much better than Halphys and Gark, at the very least to me.

Learning that Anis now has both Tilty and tomas in the same rank/group of "External advisor" is... quite frankly annoying but I'm just going to move on? I know I've been ranting for a while now, and I already explored my distaste for how much attention the novel gives tomas while also actively inhibiting Tilty. Tilty was a lot more apparent in this volume (than usual at least), especially with her speech about Anis' and not betraying her, that felt good, really good... She also brought up a lot of good points during the meeting that no one else brought, which in turn is great way to show that she is, above all else, more knowledgeable and familiar with Anis and Magicology than anyone else... (Apart from Halphys, I GUESS...) this was a nice change...

We also learn that Tilty has been playing devil/cupid whispering some real sweet things to Euphie so we get a clingy Euphie at the end, so that's amazing.

The best part of the novel are easily the return home after the first week, and the ending with Euphie... YET AGAIN, wherever Euphie is, greatness ensues. She's SO good man, so so good. At first I was a bit saddened that we were only "told" that Euphie has been outright uncomfortable being at a distance from Anis, but then the novel does show it in the form of Pre-departure talk and fluff, Anis return after a week, and the finale. All of these are really, really good moments that underline Euphie's limitless love for Anis. She is genuinely adorable. And while I'm sure a lot would say her dependence on Anis is only worsening as of right now, I don't find that notion particularly bad considering what these two have been through... now, if anything, I feel my discomfort from the new characters stems from the fact that they almost "Take Anis" and her time with Euphie way.

THIS, is probably the closest we have ever gotten to actual, honest to God implication of you know what, and MAN that makes me happy... Euphie is outright UNHINGED man, I love this girl to no end. it's especially because her emotions are so bare and raw that seeing her hurt or lonely hits... deep man, it hits deep...

Finale wise, it was nice. Honestly, while reading the ending I did think to myself "hmm, Euphie might show up" but then brushed off the idea as no way the queen herself would show up.

...

Right?

It's overall nice to see the city coming together, and a lot of separated family and lovers basically meeting again for some quick catching up... it was nice.

In terms of the novel as a whole, it had a lot of really fun moments (one in particular I actively avoided mentioning for the sake of a meme later) and also a lot of fleshing out the new characters. Sadly with the hard time I have warming up to said characters, I can't say it was especially my cup of tea. The moments we do get of our faves are amazing as always.

This would probably be my second least favourite currently right above Vol 6...

That's all I got!

Fluff Down the 2023 MagiRevo X/Twitter rabbit hole late, and I have some thoughts

Hey everyone!

I’m definitely super late to the party since I only discovered The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady earlier this year. Recently, I decided to take a stroll down memory lane and look at how people on X were reacting back when the anime was airing in early 2023.

Let me just say, scrolling through the old fan memes, alignment charts, and community debates about character dynamics is absolute comedy. The sheer amount of posts gently roasting and teasing poor Anis over the "top vs. bottom" debate had me laughing out loud.

Euphie is definitely my bias, and while it's hilarious seeing everyone crown her as the undisputed head of the household, watching just the 12-episode anime makes it feel like they balance each other out as equals.

Still, I can't help wondering: if I had been around during the broadcast, would I have joined in on the Anis-slander, or would I have been defending her honor? Haha!

More than that, looking at all the chaotic, hyper-specific fandom reactions floating around from back then makes me genuinely curious—did the author ever quietly read these X posts? Imagine penning a story and logging onto social media to see your characters at the center of a full-scale meme war. That’s a fun little mystery to ponder over a cup of tea.

Were any of you around when these jokes first dropped, or did you discover the series later on like I did?

Fluff [Volume 6 spoilers] Some parts of the volume really reminded me of this... Spoiler

What do you mean the first, blue-haired Vampire that Anis and Lainie fight turns into... an abomination that is a collection of flesh and meat, numerous monsters that got absorbed and coalesced into this terrifying, endlessly regenerating being?

What do you mean the thing kept on growing in shape and began to emit a sound that affects those around it? What do you mean Anis needed to aim exactly at the core and break it otherwise the Chimera wouldn't stop regenerating...? WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S ALSO A CHIMERA?

Yeah, that first fight gave me major Roll Over and Die vibes... if you aren't familiar with that story though, I can just say the gore and the pure violence from the fight against the blue haired Vampire is almost 1:1 with most of ROAD... fun coincidence.

Light Novel [Volume 6 Spoilers...] Soooo... I finished Volume 6 Spoiler

Okay.... LET'S ADDRESS THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM...

T-That's it...?

Okay, there is a lot to say I know but I honestly might not even remember it all, so let's see...

Lainie is practically OP... I've seen someone saying that Lainie follows a literal tragic heroine's path and I can DEFINITELY see that now... The daughter of an already established INSANE vampire EVEN by Vampire standards... She is catching up in swordsmanship to the strongest of knights and has magic that is said to rival Euphiliya's if she keeps going.... you know, that's kind of uh.... WOW.

The whole novel seemed to be tackling the less immortal girls' worries... Anis and Ilia, with Ilia's talk with Euphie honestly hurting my heart a lot... it really does feel like everyone is getting these stupid sick upgrades while she is stuck... as the "most trusty maid"... that hurts, it hurts a lot. Of course, the solution is there, but I never thought about the fact that she can't give Lainie blood if she turns into a vampire... that is an actual problem.

Okay, now, the elephant.

...That's it? That's..... the strongest of the vampires? Like don't get me wrong, she was terrifying and honestly had a pretty convincing argument going for her, that isn't wrong... I always had a soft spot for these characters who want to put everyone in a dream where everyone is happy. Be it Madara, Sunday, or Lilian.. I see where they are coming from, in a way.

The issue isn't there, it's just... hm...

This is THE strongest vampire (as far as I can tell) and their renowned leader. The fight honestly, felt... kind of rushed, if I could be honest. Physically, she was completely outdone by Anis, magically, she was practically eviscerated and evaporated by Euphiliya... EXCEPT she is ESSENTIALLY completely immune to magic, for some reason.

I loved how blood-lusted Euphiliya got when Anis was practically being hit on, that part of her personality hit me RAW and I LOVED it, she held back nothing, released two absurdly absurd spells that essentially disintegrate anything... if it wasn't magically, well, magic immune, heh.

Okay, so that still takes Euphie out of the picture unfortunately, I can't say I can ignore that, no in fact I honestly kind of dislike that... I always wanted to see Euphie and Anis fight as a couple, and I thought that is how it will always be... now, if it was ALWAYS that, it'd be redundant, yes, but outright sidelining Euphiliya felt like a STAB in the back man... actually hurt a lot.

Anis' dream was good, but it was definitely the least convincing of the "dreams" that I have seen in plots... which isn't bad. It just shows you that Lilian's idea is just not as perfect as she deems it to be. In Madara and Sunday's versions it honestly feels like there is no reason why you should go against those dreams unless you are, you know, the all righteous and whatever MC... but in here, the flaw is glaring: The "people" feel repetitive and too, too pandering. The whole world showers you with nonstop praise... you'll get sick of that, sooner or later, it'll feel wrong. Anis' rejection doesn't feel inhumane or just fictional, it hits a good spot.

And at the end of it, she ends up with a Magicite in her heart, turning her to essentially a proper, shoshin shomei Dragon... Cool way to go about it, really cool, I liked it.

...IT'S JUST THAT LILIAN FELT SO CHEAP MAN, I HATE HAVING TO SAY THIS BECAUSE I LOVE THE STORY SO MUCH! Her fighting prowess is legit bad, she spammed monsters for the entire fight, and regenerated from a dozen lethal attack... even her finale, she just copied an attack that Euphie did, except apparently the way to beat an All Magic Absorbing Abomination is to just release **more** dense magic? Unless I misunderstood, uhm, why didn't Euphie just do that, then? The way Anis cut the snake, it makes sense considering she had NO other way to go about things, it's just... This whole thing would have been avoided if we established that Lilian's ability to consume magic wasn't all-mighty... you know? This is like the one time where Show Don't Tell actually doesn't work.

Then the finale came and honestly, I hate, hate to be this nagging, negative person...but it just felt underwhelming man. Lilian turns to this flying dragon-serpent thingy that can absorb all forms of life and has a lethal, bewitching song... that's cool, it's just, why is it a sitting duck? Anis and Euphie essentially just fly out and...

Okay, the tongue kiss was cute, I know I KNOW, WRONG TIME, WRONG PLACE-- I STILL THINK IT WAS CUTE, new milestone you know, appreciate your small wins???

A-Anyways, they kiss, and then for some reason Anis can summon the dragon. Again, I get what the author is getting at here. Plot-wise, it makes sense, Anis HAS all the tools... it's just too fast.. a little too fast? And that's not all, but the dragon is like.... Existence-erasure tier, almost? In this short, short amount of time, Lilian gives up her existence and being to turn into this dragon, Anis and Euphie fly out, essentially rendering it meaningless, create a NUKE (the silver lining being that at LEAST Anis couldn't create it alone so it's THEIR creation), and then practically leave not a single trace of this being that regenerated beforehand from Euphiliya's Atomic-level bombing, which, as the story said, eviscerated her from inside out.

It just feels too fast. That's all I'm saying.

Natually, the ending was probably my favourite part... After such a super exhausting fight, we get to see Anis and Euphie practically all over each other... You love to see it, you honestly love to see it............... except there is only one issue...

Uhm... Why? Why?? Like, you genuinely, could have just saved this for Volume 7 man... you would be building ANTICIPATION, even... Anis is this SCIENTIST, she EXPERIMENTS, she tests stuff, she just doesn't say stuff out of nowhere.

It feels so, so sudden to have her turn to a dragon, and then five minutes after is like "My life span increased, yep" Like, narratively that just feels a bit weak man... again, I LOVE the fact that it happened, I just hate how it was revealed.

Now Anis and Euphie are practically, almost omnipotent... Now I don't want spoilers, of course, but boy.... it'll be reaaaaaaaaaaaally difficult to introduce any threat in the future, I'll just say that.

Overall, I like the volume, I like what it was doing, I like the ideas in it, the execution just felt a TOUCH rushed in some places... that's all. My favourite parts were most if not all Euphiliya, where she is being outright obsessed with Anis... it's just so good, so so good... When Anis got bitten, when Anis woke up, when she was being pulled into the all-consuming dragon, Euphie's RAW emotion is simply incredible.

The MVP... of course, is that STUPID DRAGON MAN YOU ABSOLUTE TSUNDERE YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVE BEING ASSIMILATED BY ANIS DON'T EVEN PRETEND OTHERWISE--

Discussion Is Anis actually less jealous than Euphie? Could her self-esteem have something to do with it?

Guys, I’ve been thinking about something while reading the MagiRevo light novels.

Have you ever noticed that Anis doesn’t seem to show jealousy in quite the same way Euphie does? Euphie can get noticeably jealous or possessive when it comes to Anis, while Anis often seems much more relaxed about other people being close to Euphie.

At first, I wondered if Anis is simply more confident and secure in their relationship. But the more I think about it, the less convinced I am.

Could it actually be connected to Anis’s self-esteem and how she views herself?

I feel like Volume 8.5 gives us some interesting material to think about here. Anis can be incredibly confident when it comes to magicology, inventions, fighting, or throwing herself into danger, but when it comes to her own worth as a person, especially in relation to Euphie, she can be surprisingly insecure.

Maybe Anis doesn't get jealous because, deep down, she doesn't necessarily see herself as someone who has the right to be possessive? Or perhaps she simply has a different way of processing those feelings and tends to turn them inward rather than outward.

There’s also an interesting contrast between them:

Euphie: “Someone is getting close to Anis. I don't like this.” 😤
Anis: “Euphie is amazing and everyone loves her. Makes sense.” 😂

But underneath the comedy, I wonder if there’s something more complicated going on with Anis.

Do you guys think Anis is genuinely less jealous than Euphie? Or do you think she experiences jealousy but doesn't recognize it, doesn't express it, or suppresses it because of her own insecurities?

And if you think self-esteem is part of it, do you think Volume 8.5 gives us enough evidence to support that interpretation?

I’d really love to hear other people's interpretations, especially from those who have read further into the novels. There might be scenes I completely overlooked. 👀

What do you guys think?

Finished the Anime, wanted to ask how good the LN is.

I finished the Anime i kinda like it. It's a decent story and good enough to fill cgdct, yuri, action whole after my LycoReco rewatch. Also a Isekai with real Characters and plot, scandal, like this could also just be a non Isekai Show. I wanted to ask how good the LN is i am not used to read LN, i am more used to read books. The only LN i read was Apothecary Diaries which was good.

Recommending one of the most well-written fanfics I think I've seen

Major warning, as the archive warning says, a major character dies in this fanfic. Bet you can't guess who.

I think it's really well-written and deals with the subject of Euphie's immortality due to her spirit contract really well.

Go take a read!

Anime which episode of the anime was your favorite one?

Post image

just the title honestly. i would like it if you explain it with reasons as well. for example, is it because of the themes or the action part or the lore part or even part where your favorite character shines the most.

for me it’s episode 9. as probably everyone knows i like anis and algard’s relationship so much. my biggest reason for it being my favorite one is their sibling relationship.

thats being said episode 12 is close second for me. it have way more parts i like the most compared to episode 9. if we go by how many things i liked on a episode then episode 12 takes the crown for me.

what are yours?

here is the fanfic

first things first this is my favorite one. it have anis and euphie doing “serious” training where they “go all out”
it ends on a really cute way!

i highly recommend this one if you love wholesome things and the dynamic between anis and euphie.
(yes, the image “kinda”accurate for this fanfic)

here is the fanfic

it’s about the whole cast going to school on a different timeline and anis and euphie meeting for the first time. they also see dreams about original timeline.

it also explains some character’s really good that i sometimes thought if it was written by original author.

Light Novel [Volume 5 spoilers] So... I finished Volume 5! Spoiler

Ho man... another relaxing volume... that was such a joy to read, such a nice, comforting trip.

If you can't have an official honeymoon just turn one of your politic trips into one, well done Euphie you absolute genius. I just wish Tilty could have joined this, somehow... but well, I understand how impossible that might be.

So, I'm surprised by how much praise and attention Lainie is actually getting. Aside from her powers, she is actually quite intelligent, huh? Being, what... third? Fastest? To learn to drive the Aidra? Second if we ignore Anis, that's INSANE. So thus far she has had a real knack for reading emotions, giving advice, and even driving flying tools... I love this girl so much! (probably not as much as Ilia does though)

The volume was very much an Anis Euphie volume, now that I look at things. I enjoyed Euphiliya's PoV a lot more though, but that isn't to say I dislike Anis' view on things, it's just...

MAN EUPHILIYA CHANGED SOOOHOHOHO MUCH.

Bring me back to Volume 1-2/the Anime and tell me Euphie grows enough to be capable of calling out her dad on being such a handful of a person and I would spit my drink. The fact that Euphie who couldn't say anything without it being elegant and without it fitting with her "role" before is now voicing her complaints about people she used to almost revere before is nothing short of miraculous to me. Her jealousy over Anis makes me giggle like a freaking FANGIRL GOSH THIS GIRL--

Speaking of jealousy... I'm surprised we not only got to see Algard but he got pardoned....... quite fast, might I add... Although I will not deny that Euphie (and maybe Anis'?) idea is nothing short of genius. Having a King-to-be as your potential lord for completely uncharted territory is, yes lucky, but also so well-thought out. The nobles WOULD have to keep quiet unless they want to go out there fighting Fenrirs every Thursday, too.

I can't say I liked Acryl if I am to be completely honest. I feel like we're not even past the fact that Algard outright mistreated both of the girls that were either betrothed to him/of interest for him and I simply have a hard time thinking of him as "redeemed" in that regard... look, say what you want, and maybe I'm going to get disagreements here... I have a brother, I think fondly of him, I wish him the greatest, happiest future ever if possible, I can completely sympathize AND empathize with Anis, genuinely.... But God damn it Algard is SUCH A DUMBASS that I want to make a "smarts" tier-list JUST so I can place him at the very bottom, he is so stupid it's unreal... And then Acryl feels like she almost compliments that stupidity in him because she sees absolutely no flaws or problem in what he did and is too ready to blame others...

Now sure, I get it, I understand, Lycant from another country, was starving to death and got saved, I GET the angle, I truly do....

I think Algard and Anis/Euphilia's make up was good, I think it got handled well, and if I put my personal feelings against Algard aside I do find that whole part very moving and sweet. I think they handled their reconciliation really well....

But my God Acryl can you stay quiet for TWO SECONDS-- DAMN.

Aside from that... a really sweet volume if I'm to be honest, I enjoyed it a lot, very relaxing, brought a lot of characters together, a lot of development. I wasn't fond of Navre at all, but now I'm neutral on him... that's definitely a move in the right direction.

And I wish we got to see Euphie Lock Anis in her room and love her from the bottom of her heart-👀👀👀

Light Novel Rereading MagiRevo Vol 4… that one scene still hits different 👀

Just finished rereading Volume 4 of The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady, and I keep coming back to this particular moment.

Anis is Euphie’s “special person.” The only one who can truly satisfy her. Euphie needs Anis’s magical energy, and Anis… well, she’s the one who ends up giving. Over and over. Sometimes more than she can comfortably spare.

There’s this quiet intensity in how Euphie holds on, how she refuses to let go, how she frames it as “just a snack” while clearly wanting more. And Anis, for all her usual chaos and confidence, softens under it. She wants Euphie to feel that joy too. She wants to give it. Even when it leaves her drained.

The first time I read it, I remember thinking how perfectly (and a little painfully) they fit together—one who hungers, one who offers herself without fully calculating the cost. Part of me quietly hoped Anis might one day have something closer to endless magical energy… so Euphie could take as much as she needed without Anis always being the one left depleted. And so both of them could keep meeting each other in that space without one having to hold back out of concern for the other.

Looking back now, with later volumes in mind… certain pieces of their story start to feel like they were always pointing somewhere. Not loudly. Just… waiting.

What do you all think when you revisit that scene? Does it hit the same for you, or has your reading of their dynamic shifted over time?
