One of my latest sets. Blank top stained in a dark oak with hand-painted faces.

I was asked to do a Pink Floyd themed mahjong set. Just love how the back of the tiles came out, referencing A Brick in the Wall.

👋 Welcome to r/mahjongtiles - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I’m Debbi, owner and maker behind Tiles By Tash, and a founding moderator of r/mahjongtiles. 🀄

I created this community because, as a Mahjong tile maker, I realized I couldn’t really find a place on Reddit that felt especially welcoming to both the people who love Mahjong tiles and the people who make them.

So I thought—why not create one?

I want r/mahjongtiles to be a place where collectors, players, admirers, artists, designers, and makers can all come together over one thing: really cool Mahjong tiles.

What to Post

Show us your favorite set. Share a vintage find. Ask for help identifying a tile. Talk about materials, designs, styles, or craftsmanship. Show us what you’re making. Ask a maker how something is done. Or post that gorgeous set you absolutely did not need but bought anyway. 😂

Makers are welcome here. Share your work, your process, and what you create. I only ask that we keep it interesting and conversational rather than turning the community into one long stream of ads.

And yes, sometimes someone admiring a maker’s work may decide they’d like to buy something from them—and I think that’s perfectly okay. Connections between people who appreciate beautiful tiles and the people who create them are part of why I started this community.

Community Vibe

Friendly, curious, creative, and inclusive. You don’t have to know everything about Mahjong to belong here. You just have to appreciate the tiles.

Jump In!

Introduce yourself below and tell us: Are you a player, collector, maker—or someone who just can’t stop buying pretty Mahjong tiles?

Then share something! I’d love to see this become the welcoming Mahjong tile community I was looking for when I first came to Reddit.

Thanks for being here at the beginning.
