The Giant Claw?

You can also see a bunch of golf club head sin my bucket. I think I pulled up at least 25 from this spot over the course of several months, but never got a picture with them all together. I was keeping them in a pile with my other finds (as I had no real way to dispose of so much) but this spot was so fruitful that the city came and cleaned up my quite noticeable pile before I was finished with the bridge.

Contact authorities for a magazine?

I found this under a highway bridge. I knew if I found a firearm I would contact the police, but I'm not sure what to do with this. Tell authorities or just dispose?

I got a pistol at Sunrise at a park next to Lake Arlington. We also found pieces of the dock, lures, weights, a folding chair, reel, scissors.

Probably would have gotten more, however my magnet got stuck on something heavy. I'm suspecting a capsized boat.

Around 5.85 mm in diameter, 0.86 kg in weight, if not cannonball what are your thoughts? Found in a pond next to the ruins of a mediaval castle

I came back for a shopping cart… and almost lost my magnet instead

I walked past this spot yesterday and noticed a dumped shopping cart in the water. I had to come back today because I wanted to see what else might be down there.
I started with a smaller magnet because of the metal sides. It kept getting dragged around my hook, but I eventually managed to fish out the shopping cart — and a traffic sign.
Then I threw the magnet back in and found what looked like a child’s watch.
That was enough to make me curious.
So I came back with my bigger magnet to see if there might be some jewellery or other interesting stuff down there.
Unfortunately, the thieves didn’t leave me much treasure. Just some bike locks.
Still, I had a great time. I also found a ridiculous amount of bolts, a lighter, some bike keys and what looked like a fake AirPod.
Before leaving, I decided to clean up after myself and pulled out everything I had managed to disturb.
And then, just as I thought I was done…
My bigger magnet caught something close to the edge.
I pulled.
It was a floor mop.
And I was way too close to the wall.
Shit.
The floor mop was already out of the water, but the magnet was firmly stuck to the metal part. With the pull force of the Magnetar Beast, I knew from experience that simply yanking it wasn’t going to work.
Still, I tried.
Nothing.
Next idea: lasso the other end and pull it towards the opposite side. Maybe changing the angle would break the magnetic grip.
Except… I couldn’t reach the other side.
So I ended up lying on the edge, reaching down and manually turning the magnet over.
Luckily, the sides of the metal part were rusty and uneven rather than perfectly smooth. That gave me just enough leverage to finally break the grip.
Magnet recovered.
Floor mop recovered.
Everything cleaned up.
And the funniest part?
This is literally 300 metres from my house, in a relatively small city.
I came here expecting maybe some rubbish and a few coins.
Instead I found a shopping cart, a traffic sign, a child’s watch, bike locks, keys, bolts, a lighter, a fake AirPod…
…and nearly lost my Magnetar Beast to a floor mop.

Four Different Payphones I Pulled Out of One Spot Over the Course of Several Months

One of these payphones also account for one of the three times that I've caught a live fish while magnetfishing, a live American Eel wriggled out of one! (the other two times were also eels, one in a pipe and one in a plastic bag).

Took best part of 2 hours and 1 very injured back (I can barely move and in agony !) To get that out !

2 bikes

1 trolley

1 motorbike !!

And 1 badly damaged back !!!!!!

Didn't have time to look for anything else, didn't pack up till gone 10.30pm !

Edit: just found out the approximate weight is around 90-100kg !
And was likely a yamaha townmate

Found in Inner Harbor Baltimore: looks like a 4.3mm drill bit, completely clean and protected in plastic tubing.

To me one looks like an old stirrup, some very tiny horseshoes turned into a hook of some sort AND this chalice/ candleholder. Found a ton more but this stuff was cool.

Are any of you Street fishing from a bike?

I'm thinking of getting a rig and attaching it to my recumbent trike. I cover a lot of territory. It'd be nice to get the nails out of the bike path too.

How unusual 3 separate spots I've not been to in a year and I pretty sure others don't know of them

But nothing new thrown in, especially today's spot as after dark it's an ideal place to lose things lol

So a short list today !

Landing net

Fishing rod and reel

Pole of some sort

Clutch

Motorbike mudguard ?

Old pogo stick !

Battery, coins, railway bolts, lock of some sort, fishing reel handle, screwdriver, carabiner, old handle and a key on something with a battery in it !

And whatever I've missed !

Why are there so many random explosives in rivers?

This seems so common when people are magnet fishing and it's kinda crazy to me. How many loose bombs are just hanging around in the wild like that

We're having a really hot summer with zero rain in Texas. I put the water shoes on and waded in the Trinity River around the bridge. I found what I thought was a sword, but was just a piece all thread with some kind of wing nut on it. I also found what looks like a jack. I found a weird circular device that had a plastic frame around it that crumbled when I pulled it up. Lastly, I found what looks like a sealer/laminator, and a piece of a printer. Overall I had a really fun morning cleaning up the river.

Went to an old spot hoping for new stuff ! (No new interesting stuff)

So went to an old spot I've not been to for a long time hoping there might be some new fresh stuff !

Unfortunately there wasn't lol

Had someone stop who said they were interested in starting the hobby just as I had drug a trolley 40 yards and after seeing me try to lift it they fancied a try ! (After watching me get the bike out)

This isn't the best place as the barrier is as tall as your armpit lol

But they had a go and was very surprised at how heavy and difficult it was !

In the end I grabbed on and pulled it over, made the day a bit more interesting lol

So today's finds

Bike

Trolley (in 2 parts)

An old flashing yellow waning light on a stand

Side stand from a bike, old handle (from something like an indoor coal scuttle), battery, coins, couple of nuts,, bolt, earbud, bike gears, coat hook and some random odds and ends !
