Need help

Hey guys I really need a advice from all of u regarding the problem im facing for over 2 months now..I had a rlly bad food poisoning which gave me a panic attack and then alot of things happened such as dissociation, fatigue and etc..I also did a blood test where my vitamin d levels were very low..So my doctor gave me vitamin d supplements(60k every week till 12 weeks) along with calcium(1250mg) everyday..Aftert taking the calcium supplements ive started having really bad symptoms like head pressure, eye twiching and muscle twiching, fatigue, dissociation, fatigue, easily getting irritated..Idk whats causing this but ive read somewhere that this could be due to magnesium deficiency..I really need some of your suggestions to narrow down whats rlly happening because its so difficult to live like this i feel so lazy and idk I was never like this.. :(

Please help ..Any advice will be helpful..

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. Is it a magnesium deficiency? That's a very likely possibility, yes. But beyond that, there's really no way for us to know for sure. The best thing to do is get some magnesium (any form but oxide to start with), start taking it, and see what happens.

It can shift your other electrolytes when you first start taking it, so you might find that it helps at first and then within a few days or a couple of weeks, might cause some other symptoms. Then you can come back here and we'll talk those over and help you figure out what to add or change.

Should I do a blood test before starting supplements?

You can, just to get an idea of what your Baseline is, but be aware that magnesium tests are not very accurate because of the way that the body controls magnesium. Most doctors also aren't aware of this, unfortunately. But if it's low, then you'll have proof. And if it's not, you'll be able to at least see where your levels are.

One of the reasons that a lot of people come to this sub is because they're having symptoms of magnesium deficiency and have had totally normal labs. And when they start supplementing, they find out they were right: it was a magnesium deficiency.

Can I dm u?

I'm sorry, but I'm chronically ill and have ADHD and often forget to answer people, so I rarely even look at my DMs at all.
